There are many reasons for that. 1) Many Indians somehow still think that his world cup, champions trophy and IPL wins make him a good test captain. So he still has not received the kind of backlash from the public and the media as he should have. Dhoni is taking advantage of that. 2) The godfather is always there to save his *****. 3) Indian captaincy lifts his profile in the ad world. He wants to make as much money as possible. 4) Having the Indian captain in their side increases CSK's profile in the market. So the godfather also wants him to continue. 5) Any other captain with a bit of shame would have resigned after this capitulation.
