vijay50 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Chalo, Pankaj will make big bucks in IPL since he got India cap now. I dont think Ishu, Vijay etc applied to BCCI for playing in county. They are happy relaxing before WI series.
kosingh Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I really think that guys like rahane,Pujara,kohli,Vijay do care about test cricket especially with great role models of the previous generation.its Better if these guys do spend time in county cricket than play these meaningless bilateral with England,Windies etc. We have New guys Like Naman,sanju,rayudu,,mohit etc who can gain valuable experience and exposure by playing these odis..hope our bowlers like Yadav,bhuvi too play a couple of seasons in the county following zak's footsteps Pujara kind of has to care. He doesn't get selected in ODIs. His IPL days are probably numbered. So he jolly well care about tests. The rest, I don't know how much they care.

Vijay, Che, Ishant, Punkaj, etc etc. The big question is will the counties bite? Yeah Vijay, rahane will land something even ishant might considering his recent performances only.But kohli / dhoni would have been big draws heck even nohit could have got some interest becoz of the local indian population or whatever. If kohli would have played they might have even considered him a future captain of the limited overs side. P.S. I am talking considering all the formats

kubrickian Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Good move on his part. Its very simple. The more longer version cricket they play, the better they will get. Especially in conditions which are different and helpful for seamers. The quality of seamers will be higher than what you get in Ranji cricket too. Besides this, all test cricketers should be asked to play Ranji trophy every year. Less IPL, Champions League and more longer version cricket is the key.

I don't think kings XI will ever pick him in playing XI, they already have vohra who had a terrific IPL season.So its better for him to stay there and play for any county than sitting in the dugout in CL T20
