Dhondy Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 And can't play the first Test, it does solve a hairy problem for the Indian "think tank" (more like a leaking loo). It does resolve the issue of what to do with Yuvraj's excellent form, the man at risk yet again, rather unfairly, being VVS Laxman. Dhoni was made to wear an aircast brace by the physio, and it looks like a sprain. I reckon he is out of the first Test. So Kartick keeps wickets and Yuvraj and Laxman both figure in the XI. Not what India wanted, but may not be the worst outcome.
Bumper Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 It would be a joke not to play Yuvraj Singh in this form. He always does well against Pakistan in Tests. The guy averages 58 in 6 tests vs Pak, with 2 100s & 1 50. We must make room for him, somehow.

fineleg Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Drop Ganguly...simple :-D Seriously' date=' drop ganguly[/quote'] If MSD is in the 11, and we need to pick YS, we need to drop SG.
Ram Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 For the FIRST time in many matche, India suffer a top order collapse and Ganguly isnt playing. Have you guys given your intelligence a weekend holiday ?
Cricketics Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 wtf.. why to drop anyone.. just replace Dhoni With Yuvi if and keep rest of the team same as it was in final test against England recently. .
fineleg Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 For the FIRST time in many matche, India suffer a top order collapse and Ganguly isnt playing. Have you guys given your intelligence a weekend holiday ? The guy would have been useless. So, we dont lose wickets but still lose because of his super slow batting. Same result achieved in a different style by SG. Nah, would rather use this opportunity to find some promising youngsters like Rohit Sharma, and to confirm the fact that sehwag should be given a Ta Ta.
Ram Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Slow batting ? Where , when ? India have had scores of 248, 294,321,255 and 275 in this series. So , where is the slow batting you are talking about ?
Ram Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Ganguly's batting Huh ? I thought this was a team game , where people play according to plan. Batsman play with/around each other. This is not like the Lotte super skills crap. This is a team game. Ganguly-Sachin partnerships have helped the middle order flourish and score at a quick pace.
bharat297 Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 In any case ... Ganguly and Laxman are our best 2 test batsman at the moment so it would be foolish to drop either of them If dhoni is injured then I would ask KKD to keep and put Yuvraj in place of Dhoni
Sachinism Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 if dhoni is injured bring back parthiv :D
Ijlal Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 If Yuvraj is not selected for tests, then he shud join ICL like Yousuf to teach BCCI a lesson
living Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 For the FIRST time in many matche, India suffer a top order collapse and Ganguly isnt playing. Have you guys given your intelligence a weekend holiday ? So true .... clearly he is adding something to the batting lineup
Shehezaada Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Ganguly has been our best test batsmen for not only the last series but for the RSA series as well! why drop him?
Yuvraj4Captaincy Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Yuvraj should play in tests or we are wastign his talent and prime form for some1 who is just clinging to his position on a borrowed time.
Chandan Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 In any case ... Ganguly and Laxman are our best 2 test batsman at the moment so it would be foolish to drop either of them If dhoni is injured then I would ask KKD to keep and put Yuvraj in place of Dhoni Bharat, How is Laxman among the top two test bats at the moment? Ganguly was the top run-getter vs SA while Sachin was the the one who was second highest top run-getter. Karthik was the top run getter in England Ganguly second highest and Sachin third highest. Just can't understand how you came at the conclusion about Laxman being among the best two test bats. Care to explain?
