KT, all your hatred for Dhoni is because he out-shined Sachin in fame, right? (note: I only mentioned fame. so please don't bounce on me). The corruption, lack of captaincy skill, etc. are all just a way to let out your frustration, right? I am not saying Dhoni can't be accused. Also the accusations that others keep against Dhoni all seem to be rational except yours. Are you really doing this because of your frustration or just to get more attention here?
For well over one year before Sachin retired I was asking for his head and calling for him to quit or be dropped. Dude 3 years of ass rapes away from home is no laughing matter. Add that to out right corrupt team picks etc You may not have watched those 3 years but I have. The last test series was yet another humiliation and ass rape. Yet the show goes on!! Rahane seems a man of integrity, who will do his best for team to win. That's an upgrade on current captain

Why are you so desperate? Why would you be so desperate? As an Indian fan are you not happy that we are doing good, infact great in ODI's? So good that we are ranked no.1 team? Why would anyone want to change a skipper when we are on a winning streak? This is most absurd logic I have ever heard. Are you saying your personal hatred for Dhoni is more than your love for the country? Dude its high time you assess what you type and when is the right time to say things. Stop making a joke of yourself and this forum.

Even if Dhoni is around for 2-3 years more, there is still concern about who might replace him (whether or not you think Dhoni is good or not). Rahane just doesn't seem the leader type. Being captain of India is the most demanding job in world cricket. Need to be a strong leader, be able to deal with off field issues, be politically astute etc. Can't see Rahane fit that role. Kohli is tough but immature. No control over emotions. Ashwin? Maybe. As a player he is good, but that's not the point. As a captain I don't see any glaring weaknesses. But I don't see any particular strengths either. Bhuvi? Naah. Rahane type. Sir Jadeja? He's a regular in all 3 formats, but that's just because he's Dhoni's boy. Dhoni goes, Jaddu goes from the test team. No real candidate. But I'd go with Kohli and put in a coach capable of keeping Kohli calm.

Make Rahane the captain of his IPL franchise as a start Even Fringe cricketers like D.K leads his team in the absence of the main captain in IPL ...Dhawan,Rohit,Kohli,Raina(in Dhoni's absence) all lead their franchises. Yeah IPL might not be a benchmark for a lot of things but no denying that it is still an intensely contested team sport. Leadership exposure is what he needs. Case has been made fpr Pujara as he has A team experience,Even Uthappa has led teams on A tours but Rahane has no captaincy exposure at any level.

I am a firm believer that captaincy skills are a combination of in born talent and understanding of the game. You either have them or you don't. Captaincy skills are much more than leadership skills. For example Dhoni is a very good leader but a poor test captain. That's because he does not understand the nuances of the game. So unless you have someone captaining the longer format you won't know how good he is. T20 exposure is not the answer.

A leader is not identified and handpicked out of thin air-Such things only sound good in movies,I mean simple rule 101-To be given a management position you need some level of exposure be it sports or a corporate gig. Rahne as far as I know is not even the vice captain of anything leave alone being a captain. This is not a criticism of Rahane or totally overlooking of any ability just that he hasn't done that any level. Now people make the argument for Dhoni but in his case he was clearly as he himself acknowledged mentored by Kumble and on top of that he played alongside some legends of the game. Even for field settings Zak and to some extent Bhajji handled it for him.

Remember the pathetic use of part timers and yadav having 13 overs in 9 spells!!! By the way England have now lost 4 odi series in a row at home!!!! Just to put in context You are typical fan who a few odi wins and then a bit of IPL and all is forgotten and all is good. Typical new India fan. No wonder you like fake acting wrestling

Yes Rahane should be captain the oz tour n our fast bowlers LL take 5fers every now n then n Dhawan n all LL score tripples
Lets stick with how things are. Maintain status quo. If aint broke why fix it. O wait ite been 3 years of broken. Things cant get worse but apparently who cares, no hope anything may improve by even 5% so lets stick with leg slip dhoni who stands back to spinners!!! Hooray Jai Hind
