vroomfondel Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 If DPS RKP is the most respected school in India, then we are in serious trouble. As a survivor of the DPS system (first East of Kailash till Class 5, and then RKP), and I can categorically say that it was the most hideous educational experience of my life. The standard of teaching is absolute shyte, and I had perhaps one teacher who I felt was worth talking to and learning from. The reason RKP (and others) are so 'well respected' is that they admit stellar students from other schools into Class XI, based on their board results in the Xth (this is CBSE). These students are already established exceptional performers and are products of their respective environments. They choose RKP because of the 'name', RKP lets them in and hogs the limelight when they are stellar XIIth performers. It boils down to self-fulfilled rigging of results. As for the social aspect, the 'social superstars', or the ones who constructed the in-scene were, without exception, rich south-delhi brats that would drive around in black mitsubishi lancers with their overfed rear-ends jiggling to subwoofers beating out tasteless hiphop. Their mummy-papa assigned drivers would sit in the back seat while unlicensed laadla (usually named aaaryan or some other numerologically favorable recipe) cruised for non-existent chicks around Prince Pan Shop. These kids were admitted into RKP through the standard means: their uncle's first cousin knows a Khurshid or Logani, member of 'DPS Society' (I was admitted the same way). And they get their 60% average (if they have private tutors), and then go to Switzerland to do 'hotel management' before joining their father's garment export business. They are the ones that I associate with the DPS ethic. Sorry if the stereotypes stung anyone (and yes i'm bitter).
Rajiv Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 You can all shut your trap regarding Computers and Media rooms..stupid geeks Did you have a girls school next to you where they loved wearing mini skirts  and the fact they have no sports ground so they came over to yours for practice
vroomfondel Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 wow, above post seems so out of place in the tharki-fest. dps girls are hot. du girls are hotter, but i never had the balls to start a conversation. bas door se dekhna kaafi tha.
Rajiv Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 LOL, School time was usually tharki-fest wasn't. It's a different ball game in a co-ed school but a completely different experience when you have a girls scholl next to ya
Rajiv Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 HAHAHAHAHAHAH i am gonna rub it in some more then. When i was there they had three big computer labs fully equipped with 50 computers, a big air conditioned media room where we would watch crikket matches during recess - you can deny it all you want Shop ? lol. My skool had a CANTEEN which served chow-mein, Kwality Walls ice cream and all that other crappy indian food. It was a rip off, but it was there My skool ownz yourz What year is this? 1995+ I had my 100 meter practice session where I twisted my ankle and the fark principal told me that he can't let me go home coz I wanna watch the cricket match.I told him I hated cricket and the baldy was hearing the commentary himself on radio
