There are many experts out there claiming that you cannot bowl the conventional doosra without straightening your elbow or with a clean action. Considering Saqlain is touted to the pioneer of the doosra, then it begs the question did he bowl the doosra with a legal bowling action?

Number Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I think he was quite legit and if compared to Murli(his contempary offie), you can call him totally clean. He used fingers really well to turn the bowl other way.

Both are slow doosras but in one version he has a straight arm and in another version he has a bent arm (which doesn't extend much). Neutral fans consider him clean too.

The delivery point (for the pic in post #5) is not straight. His arm from shoulder to elbow is not straight in line with his arm from elbow to wrists.

Given Ajmal and Senanayake were found to be straightening their arm by close to 40 degrees,I think these are close to 15 degrees and maybe slightly above too. I guess anything under 15 degrees would be difficult to even spot by these pics/videos
