ThePhenomenal1 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 IMO, a real test batting lineup and team would be like this: Vijay, Dhawan/solid left hander, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, N Ojha/Saha, Ashwin, Bhuvi, Yadav, Aaron/Ishant, Shami
sticky wicket Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Oh no, not this episode again, If players want to get into test team, then put them through A tours, let's see Raina perform in A tours and Ranjis games We have seen usually the guys with first class average of 50 plus will generally fair well in test cricket,
CoverDrive Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Our master stroke after test humiliation is shastri as team director and raina in middle order
Tapioca Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 No more Jadeja in tests plsss.... Ojha is forgotten? I'd rather have a XI with Ashwin as the sixth batsman and the fifth bowler 1. Dhawan 2. Vijay 3. Pujara 4. Kohli 5. Rahane 6. Dhoni 7. Ashwin 8. Bhuvi 9. Ojha 10. Aaron 11. Shami Under the current circumstances, Ojha will refuse to play if selected.
mancalledsting Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Why stop there? Manan Voha also has good timing and hits big sixes. Maybe he should open in australia. How about Kuldeep Yadav, he bamboozled a few players in the CLT20- maybe he should be our premier spinner for tests. Forget the like of karun Nair Baba Aparajith Jiwanjot Singh And hold them back for people like Yuvi and Raina (as you did for Chepu and Rahane)
Pagalpanti Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Last aus tour it was Vinay getting murdered at Perth by Warner, this time we'll see Raina jumping around in Brisbane to MJ
kumar713 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Suresh Raina, who hasn't played Tests since August 2012, will lead the Board President's side in the three-day match in Kanpur before the Test series. Rohit Sharma, who has been sidelined since the England tour in August with a finger injury, is also part of the squad for the Kanpur game, as is young chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav.
skindia Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Uthappa got just 3 test inning and dropped:-(
kubrickian Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 It will be a big mistake to select Raina in tests based on a good score in a tour game in India. He will be a walking wicket in tests in Australia because of his problem against short ball. Even though he has worked on it, he is still not good enough to handle 150k bouncers from Mitchell Johnson. Let him do well in FC and A tours first and concentrate on ODIs at the moment.
CG Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Lets see he is good against spin and aggressive though he struggled against swann last in test cricket.
sticky wicket Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Oh god, now picked in board XI as captain! Wi Bloody shastri shud just feck off. Can't belive Raina is getting a red carpet rolled out to pave his way into test team, he needs to do the hard yards first
Kadesh Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 All the fast bowlers practising their bouncers right now.
bowl_out Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 As somebody said earlier Test cricket will spoil Raina's T20 technique... Hard to believe, but true. His is an LOI specialist, and should remain that way... Also, it would be sad to see them go back the the 4 bowler combination so soon. The five bowler thingy helped them win a test in England
tweaker Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Shastri has his word,Raina is now in the test squad
Temujin Khaghan Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I dont mind Raina in the place of Rohit Sharma just dont pick jadeja please.
Cricket_Hacker Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 If Kaddu is picked in the first test then we'll know who loves him the most
bowl_out Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 we shld not let test cricket to spoil Rainas technique .. THIS.... so true... He is an LOI specialist... and should be made to remain that way... Hope he doesn't get a game Down Under
