On average how many times a year do you get to the cricket live?

Just wondered, given we are all massive fans here, how often we actually go watch cricket -- as I'm sure we all know nothing can compare to watching in the stadium, having a few beers and banter in the crowd. It's way better than TV! I go to most England games in London (2-3 days of each test, the ODIs and the T20s), then most weekend days of Surrey games and evening T20s, and some Middlesex games at Lord's, so I'd say on average 20-30 times a year. What about you guys

Me too now. Fortunately my PhD allows me to be back in Europe every summer (archaeological fieldwork) so should be able to get several matches in. Also from the US it is pretty cheap to go to the Caribbean and take in a test or two there - I'll be going to some of the England tour in May.

0 because I live in U.S.A.....In India have gone to a couple of good games and a lot of good exhibition games just to see some legends but unless you get a VIP pass through some connections,it is better to enjoy the game in your own living room because the crowd turnout is huge which results in 1)Parking is a Nightmare 2)Too many people 3)Not all stands are conducive to get a good view( atleast in Wankhede,LB,Uppal Stadium)-2 cricket grounds in the cities I lived in. 4)If you are spending your own money on good seats-usually they are sold out if it is a big game or the prices are sky high. Having said that if it is a worthwhile match like say a WC or a significant ICC tournament or a series against a good opponent like Aus,S.A or even Pak due to the rivalry,nothing quiet beats watching the game in an Indian Stadium in that electric atmosphere. :two_thumbs_up:

I am not sure how many Mumbaikars will agree with me but I personally liked Brabourne more than Wankhede. Uppal Stadium is definetely an upgrade over LB-Do Hyderabadis agree with me

IPL usually 3-4 matches atleat a year .Probably more When it comes to international cricket depends on whether they are scheduled in Chennai or Banglore . If lucky once a year

I attend most of the IPL games (except Bangalore vs Chennai where tickets are nearly impossible to get) and Champions league matches in Bangalore. I don't even watch Tests in TV, so no way am gonna watch it live. One whole day is too much to waste watching cricket anyways :dontknow:

Lucky you. But West Indies no longer play good cricket it will be boring to watch although India has been doing great either. So I don't like watching mediocre cricket.

Yeah. Tickets are very very difficult to get in that match because of the huge Tamil population in Bangalore. Its kinda derby match.

not the new Wankhede the thing about brabourne is that the main stand for CCI members is excellent. But the stands for non members are in disarray

Same here. Most recent was a couple of WC games in 2011 but have watched many others before when i used to live in india.

1-2 IPL matches at Eden and try to cathc wtever international match the eden gets.

Rarely watched international matches in India. Went to one day of two test match - India vs. Pak 1978 or 1979in Bangalore. Watched Vishy bat. Another one was in Bangalore ... Ind vs Kim Hughes' Ozzie team. That's it. Watched numerous Ranji/Duleep matches. Would skip college and go hang out in Chinnaswamy. Last summer, made a trip to Kingston with family to watch Ind-SL in the Triangular. Great trip. Great experience meeting and talking to players and getting pics. Forgettable match result.
