The next elections will be all about healthcare. If GOP wants to win they need to come up with a great alternative else they will lose again but if they can have reasonable plans for healthcare & immigration and have some centre-right candidate then they can win the win the White House too.

I think repealing Obamacare is popular now. They are riding that wave. How long can they cash from it masking their unpopularity among latinos? Mid-terms usually has lower voter turnouts which help GOP. White house is bigger fish, unless GOP moves away from Tea party and to the center, it will not be able to get the executive branch the next election as well. Hilary v/s Chirstie ? maybe...

Illinois governor is a Republican now? Looks like election officials didn't allow dead people to vote multiple times in Chicago :-))!!
EIther that or new congressional districts approved by Congress!

Had to happen. NO second term President since FDR has had mid term elections go in his favor. As for those who are saying that Obama will now be a lame duck Prez - wasn't he already that for quite a long time. He has not shown much resolve on major issues.

The candidates messed up by distancing themselves from the President, it might have worked if they had ANY alternate plans. These democrats ran on GOP agenda and obviously lost to GOP candidates.

No chance for a Brown guy from a right wing party
He's governor of a southern state and more right wing than most republicans. Although Rubio has a higher chance if the repubs want the Latino vote

How does that help with electing a Governor?
Higher voter turnout of republican voters' districts causing an imbalance of dems districts whi h had lower voter turnout. Far shot , but still Obama care was very well disected by repubz

I'm not sure he will run. 2020 definitely but not now.....he will be a contender for VP nomination though. Jeb Bush seems to be a rather sane Rupublican, no?

District-wise distribution does not matter. In Illinois, is the governor elected based on the number of districts going to each candidate?
