Ashwin edges out Raina and Rohit on batting too for those conditions,or is equal at worst and has added avantage of bowling. All these guys are 5th bowlers and do a decent job.Thats very important.Can't do with part timers. SA now play Parnell/McLaren for same reason even though they have better bowlers than both

This... They are trying to fill Kallis' shoes with Parnell and Mclaren while they don't need to do it.. It's because 5th bowling option is a must in Tests.. 4 bowlers can't bowl with high intensity throughout the innings..

I get the feeling , after reading the match report, that it would be best if we somehow manage to play Aaron, Umesh, Shami and Ishant all together. If we play 3 pacers then I would prefer Aaron, Umesh and Ishant. Because we are playing in Australia.

I think they'll go the safe route of playing 4 bowlers, one of them being Ashwin, for the first Test. If Ashwin does better than the batsman at 6, they might consider a five bowler combination (Ashwin + 4 pacers) for Gabba

Well our quick bowlers should be able to roll them up this is not a good side and in past I was surprised that we did so badly with bowl but this is not surprising we are playing Aaron and ishant who both did remarkably well in last test series in England and umesh who many think should be our test attack with bhuvi playing along with them

BK can leak runs too when attacked. BK will play though. Ishant most times will bowl economically until he is attacked.

Kohli's personal preference seems to be Aaron, Umesh and Ishant. I would like that combo too.

I rarely get attacked when u bowl well Obviously philander of South Africa will leak too if he is attacked but most of times that does not happen and he is key to others bowling aggressively

If Umesh and Aaron actually play together then Ashwin might play as a defensive option. Karn is untested internationally and I doubt Kohli will play him.
