Gary Kirstem - Was he just lucky?

Maybe you have to give credit to Gary for helping guys like Zaheer and Gambhir play really good cricket. But then again, Gary was lucky to have a number of players who were both highly skilled as well as experienced.

Our collective performances nosedived immediately after he left and fatso joined.Cant be just a coincidence
Our dip in performance almost exactly coincides with Sir Goddy's search for that 100th 100. Coincidence? :giggle:

No, they didnt. We had done well in WI after he had gone. Performances had to fall because of aging seniors and no real transition planning done by him. He was lucky to have good players in good form. It was his tenure when we had to plan transition which never happened. We didn't have batsmen or bowlers ready to make impact.

Yes, they had to... but not many predicted a 4-0 drubbing on the level that we witnessed in Eng and Oz. Some of it was due to natural decline, but I believe that factors of captaincy, coaching, etc also made a crucial difference.

These things are far more overrated.
