G_B_ Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 i want to a tv pundit...... state the obvious pick up the big bucks. best job ever
Vijy Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Sanjay Manjrekar captain obvious That would be our ex-captain Dhobi :haha:
tweaker Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 World class bowler does not jump from sky. They have to be identified, coached & groom.
vvvslaxman Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 This year highest wicket takers in the order so far 1)Pankaj Singh 31 wickets 2) Vinay Kumar 27 wickets 3) Thakur 26 wikets 4) R Dhawan 26 wickets 5) Dinda 25 wickets 6) S Aravind 22 wickets This does not give us much hope. I think we have to look for alternative way of selecting players. A tour could be helpful. But if we run into flat wickets that won't be useful either.
Silva Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 even aussie world class bowlers have been average on these pitches. We need a lower order that doesn't fold. thats the real difference between the two side this series.

Rishi Dhawan and Sandeep Sharma are a lot better than what you give them credit for. Don't discount those two without giving them a chance just because they are not "phaaaast". Plus Rishi Dhawan is an all-rounder with a batting average in high 30s in FC so he should easily slot in at 6 or 7 in Tests and give us depth with both bat and the ball. It's not his fault he doesn't have a father in selection committee like Stuart Binny does.
BlueBee Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I think Rishi Dhawan is a good prospect. Can bowl, can bat.
vvvslaxman Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Sandeep Sharma i always backed him. But due to lack of pace he gets overlooked. Atleast in certain conditions he can be lethal swinging the ball both ways.

But, the few that we didn't try should be given a few chances - Rishi, Aravind and Thakur.
