In that case, let Rahane and Dhawan fight for the opener's spot. We will never know about Rayudu if we do not try him here, is the larger picture.

IF Raina looks part, then I would move Dhoni up to No.4 and let the others bat around him. We might as well play 5 bowlers. This is another combination which we could try - Dhoni can do his tuk, tuk single collection rather than giving a false sense of calm later down the order. But, this combination is also a huge risk because we don't have experience down the order. IF Raina is ready to take Dhoni's place (and by take I mean take responsibility) - we should try this as well.

I think you're right and I don't find much confidence in Dhoni either. I just want to see this combination too. Currently, without Jadeja - Dhoni is still doing tuk tuk, so I thought let him tuk tuk up the order.

renjith Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 rahane should not even be in the team. he is not a good odi player. rayudu is too slow and with dhawan having a tail enders defence, india does not have any chance in this world cup. it will be a surprise if we go past qf. atleast after the wc we should replace these guys with players suited for odi format. we are being dump by not having different teams for different format.
