sourab10forever Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 If dhawan or rohit get out within first 5 overs,i think it would be best to have rahane at 3 ..would protect kholi,and also install back a opener in the middle,so it wount be much of a diffrence in terms of balance.

He should continue to bat at No. 3 and Rahane should bat at 4, Raina and Dhoni at 5,6 respectively. No. 3 should be Virat irrespective of the start we get.

This tri-series is a nice time to try a combination and see how it goes if there's an injury or should such a situation arise. Particularly, MCG would have been the ideal place to try because of the long boundaries.

You need strike rotators and/or stroke makers - this is the reason Dhoni, Raina, Kohli and Yuvraj were very good down there. You need people who rotate strike and mark my words - on these Australian grounds, it is going be a very important factor. It will be the difference between a 280 and a 300 score.
