rkt.india Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Ab De Villiars vs Robin Uthappa is better. Both batsmen who can keep wickets.
Marut Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Rohit was dropped on 5 in that innings' date='that needs to be considered too[/quote'] Why is this such a big deal? Sachin was dropped five times at Mohali 2011, does that mean Pakistan won the match?
bowl_out Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Would like to see AB DV play the squat pull over midwicket against Mitchell Starc at the Gabba or Perth.
bowl_out Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Why is this such a big deal? Sachin was dropped five times at Mohali 2011, does that mean Pakistan won the match? Means that wasn't Sachin's best innings or an innings we are proud of. Sachin's 98 at WC 2003 >>>>>> Sachin's 85 at Mohali in 2011 The point on being dropped on 5 was irrelevant only until you brought in the point of carrying on till 264 without playing a false stroke....

Gilchrist was dropped early on in 2007 WC final and that inning is considered one of the best WC innings ever.

Sachin's 98 at WC 2003 >>>>>> Sachin's 85 at Mohali in 2011 The point on being dropped on 5 was irrelevant only until you brought in the point of carrying on till 264 without playing a false stroke.... But if I'm not wrong wasn't Rohit dropped multiple times in that innings?

I never mentioned anything about a false stroke. In general, a little luck is needed to get big scores, unless the opponent is a very weak team.
rkt.india Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 But if I'm not wrong wasn't Rohit dropped multiple times in that innings? Twice. Second time after crossing 200. This is what happens when batsman put fielders under pressure. Sehwag 300 in multan, he was dropped half a dozen times.
Sachinism Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 lolwut! This thread is akin to something I'd find on certain other sites. What an embarrassment.
KFC_Zinger Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 One innings is by a hack who has continually screwed his own team and the other is a ATG.....
HippoSucks Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 One innings is by a hack who has continually screwed his own team and the other is a ATG..... Actually 2 innings. And those two innings are the highest scores ever in an ODI. I think that is way better than getting the fastest century against an attack worse than ours on a great batting pitch. Even Corey Anderson achieved that feat against the same trash bowling. Please realize that we are comparing innings, not players.

HippoSucks Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Go jump off a cliff Actually I do cliff jumping frequently.
bowl_out Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Actually talking about dropped chances, even ABD was dropped 3-4 times today
maniac Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Actually talking about dropped chances' date=' even ABD was dropped 3-4 times today[/quote'] Exactly....swinging your way to 160 even though needs mercurial talent....to build an innings across 50 overs....play both the attacking and the defensive game and score 264 is a monumental effort....even devillers will be humble enough to decline this comparison.

Dude... ABD got 162 off 66 balls... And the innings ended... Can't imagine what he would have done in 173 balls...

Doesn't work that way......seen a lot of innings in the end some even more chanceless than this one...based on this logic,Russel got 42(12) against Pak and was not out,so does it make it better than AB devillers innings?
