I do recall Rehman Malik (then the Interior Minister) saying the 2011 world cup match was fixed, and considering the way the match went, who knows. I doubt that this was the case though. How could it not be up to the players? Politicians can't fix matches without the involvement of your players.

So in 25+ years not one single player had the courage to stand up and say, "I will not sell my country"? go to the media? Even the ones whose careers were over? Even when the military was ruling? Do you guys even think before posting? India is the biggest arch rival, yet you fix to lose and everyone, players, boards, officials are ok with it? Players like Afridi can bring whole governments down if he says politicians asked them to throw a match against India And finally, if you really believe your cricket is corrupt to this level, why take pride, watch and support the team and players? How can people be so delusional about anything is beyond me.

On Akram issue, if he wanted to loose the match for Pak, wouldn't it have been easier if he had played? Or he didnt play because he didnt want to be a part of the fixed throw?

These are the same Paki fans who will take a match fixer like Mohd Amir back in the team in a heart beat yet cry "match fixing" after a loss :haha: To Paki fans all the losses are "fixed" and the whole world is out to get them. There's always a conspiracy theory and according to them they wouldn't have lost a single match in their entire history if the world hadn't conspired against them or if their players hadn't "fixed" the matches.

Let's say if Akram had played half fit and Pak had lost - after all they did lose to India in 1992, 99 ad 2003 when Akram was there - the same folks would have said the match was "fixed" and that's why an injured Akram played. It would have been the same as SL fans post 2011 WC when they said the match as "fixed" as an unfit Murali played. If he hadn't played they would have cried "fixing" due to his absence. It's a "heads I win tails you lose" scenario. No matter what Pakis would cry about "fixing" after every loss. And injuries do happen - we had to leave out Sehwag in 2007 WT20 final, Ganguly sat out the game against Pak in 1999 and so on. An unfit player in a big game is a huge risk and you would want to have 11 fit players in a match of such magnitude.
