Holding till date doesn't like Sunny that much. He always takes pot shots at Sunny slyly that he batted well only in better batting conditions. One thing that really made this hate worse was 1983 world cup defeat. From that point their encounters with India had lot of spice. To add salt to wounds Indian fans at jamshedpur threw stones and bottles at Windies team. This was followed by a massacre by Greenidge and Richards. they added 226 in 26 overs. Shastri bot was taken to cleaners :giggle: . Then there was another incident. Ahmedabad pitch for the third test. It was awfully prepared. Lloyd did not really like the way they prepared the pitch. India did not have much to chase. But Lloyd already decided they were going to win the match. Promptly their pacer sent India packing for 103 runs .

To me Holding comes across a douche and hypocrite.

Also there was a fear against the Windies bowlers until 1995 when Australia took them on. I mean the lasting image of Steve Waugh and Ambrose. Off the field those guys were great guys from what I heard, on the field a different story and I don't blame anyone. You want to win on the field and pressure is high. Off the field you get to chill.

Marshall is oversensitive in this incident, maybe rest of the West Indian fast bowlers are as well. Courtney Walsh looked mentally at peace compared to others.

Marshall was pretty open about loathing Vengy and besides this article he also was responsible for putting Vengy out of action in World Cup 83 at Oval ( at the time fastest pitch in Eng). http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/65077.html I never heard Vengsarkar expressing his feeling about Marshall. I never saw Antigua knock (not sure if live TV coverage existed from WI ) but I can tell you he played a cracker of knock when WI toured India post WC in 1983 at Bombay. He scored exactly hundred but he blasted Marshall & co in later half of his innings like no tomorrow. Marshall's comment may seem childish but at least he was honest and believe me certain players develop dislike not exactly for any logical reasons.
