Today he was almost always between 146 to 149 k ... and sprayed the ball . Was it really necessary in such a crucial match ? He should have stuck to what was working for him. Shami, on the other hand , was much slower than usual and looked innocuous after his first 2 overs. He too should have stuck to the 140 to 145 k speed that was working for him in the past matches. One pacer tried to bowl quicker and the other tried to bowl slower than what was working for them....and both bowled sub par.

Don't think his increase in pace has got anything to do with it.

Bowled too many short ones on a slow pitch. Same strategy gave them lots of wickets. Also' date=' poor captaincy too. Yadav should not have bowled 5th over. You are making batsmen used to one bowler. He tried to be attacking but pitch isn't suited to that kind of bowling.[/quote'] Yes, Umesh didn't spray but misjudged the length to bowl on this slow pitch.

He got accustomed to bowling that short of the length ball. Should have tried some bouncers. Surprisingly none of our bowlers have bowled bouncers. I don't think he bowled more wides than what he does usually. And against Warner, you are always going to go for runs. It was Warner who took majority of strike against him. Got him out with almost the same ball that wen for a six.

Yadav was very accurate whenever he bowled length. He just bowled too many short balls on a slow and low bounce pitch. Was trying to attack as this is the same way they were getting wickets throughout the WC but this was the different pitch they have played till now. They need to look for reverse now.

They need to look for reverse now.[/quote'] There was a lot of talk before the match about how this pitch maybe slower than usual and may give us a chance etc. etc. It would be very strange if just our bowling unit missed this aspect.

I dont think a slow pitch makes our chances better. A turning pitch yes, but it was never going to be a turning track. A slowish pitch with low bounce would take our bowlers out of the equation.

But , my point was that ..... if our bowling unit missed the point that this pitch is a slower one although this aspect was widely expected by the cricketing fraternity, then it is very strange.

You cant bowl same way n every pitch.

His speed was up and I thought he bowled at 150.2 k when he bowled Faulkner,didn't he?
