Asim Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 By pure luck. Pak chased all the matches except one. We all know how great Pak defends the targets.. Had they batted 5 times like India' date=' they'd have clobbered India. The only time they defended target, Sachin had a life courtesy Razzaq.. :beee::beee:[/quote'] Ban this person...
Asim Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Motivation... handling pressure... battle of nerves... mentol block... blah blah and none of them would say "we won the toss and elected bat" 5/6 times :--D
jonas10 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Yes just Pak players will never say we have no idea what how to score more than 250 runs. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Shivaji bhonsle Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 The first four times there team was definitely better than ours' date=' so we have punched above our weight..... In 2011/15 we were better[/quote'] no. Just no. We were the better team in 2003 world cup.
jonas10 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Pakistani players are just really bad in pressure situations. They cant keep their cool like a guy like dhawan who will change his game for the situation. How on earth do you lose 10 world Cup matches in a row?
youngindia Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Actually till 1985, the record was 8-6 in favor of india. what tilted the record was the emergence of akram which made pakistan a potent pace attack.also akram was very difficult to hit and could also make breakthroughs. Also Pakistan learnt to feast on the slower indian bowling.miandad and malik showed the way by winning matches out of nowhere they could see it was our weakness. they pounced on it. even when we scored 274 of 45 overs(a sure winner for that time), we lost.thanks a whole lot to the likes of chetan sharma we didn't have too many strikers at that time.srikanth and kapil the two dashers were not averaging high.pakistan built an array of strikers of the ball. so Pakistan could feast heavily on the weak indian bowlers..our batting was variable often limited by akram's spells anyway between 1986 and the wc of 1996 , the record was an astonishing 20 -4. tendulkar was contained to an extent till 1996.but he started breaking out after 1996 it took the addition of sehwag and yuvraj to give enough depth to address the balance since then it has been 22-20 in favor of india, pakistan's record inflated by a productive 2004-2005 season.
youngindia Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 +++++.I will be happy to see the day when India -Pak scoreline becomes 85-85 in ODIs.Key is not playing in Sharjah or UAE' date='the jinxed venues for India.[/quote'] the key is avoiding mediocre trundlers who are a heavy buffet for opposition. if there is one chief culprit, it is the trundlers of india. till this day,we have gavaskar who is suggesting binny as a seam option.
Dinx - the Jinx Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 As somebody having been born in the 70s and having endured the disappointment of numerous defeats in Sharjah through the mid-late 80s, I am certainly happy about this streak and have seen all the WC matches live beginning from '92 Sydney. Lived through this slice of history ... ++:two_thumbs_up:

Are you talking only about Sharjah here? Where is this 8-6 coming from.
the don Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Pakistan were just not better against India in the 90s or before that , neither did they have some special method as some are suggesting , they were just a far superior side to India , and were better against most opponents.
the don Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 So better mental strength (really admire Indian cricket for this), better strategy and Pak's chokeness/freezing. This is a recent phenomena as i remember India losing quite a few finals and pressure games under Ganguly .
vvvslaxman Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Having seen all the encounters.. i can say stage fright. Even in the 1985 B&H they were in panic mode.. Ofcourse we were a better side then. In 1992 the run out of Imran Khan was illustration how they easily panic against us in the multi national events. In 1996 Ata Ur Rahman had an anxiety attack right in the middle of the match. They play ultra cautiously against us. Only guy who did not show nerves was Aamir Sohail. Others were all a bit tentative all the time.
youngindia Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Are you talking only about Sharjah here? Where is this 8-6 coming from. no..the overall head to head at different phases... 8-6 was the h2h record at the time of april 1986
Sachinism Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Its because India feel the pressure and they actually practice. But Pakistan are just relaxed because they know how bawse they are
jonas10 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 The majority of it is psychological and mental. Pakistan by nature is really bad under pressure. A large part of it however is planning. Look at the bowlers Pak fielded in the first game. All noobs. Why didnt they give Sohail Khan a chance to bowl in the 3 game friendlies against India if he was eventually going to play in the world cup? They didnt know he'd play in the world cup...why? Those were meaningless matches to experiment with rosters. India certainly did. It was an opportunity for Bhuvi and Shami to get their first matches and now they are regulars in the first team squad. Now they got 2/3rds of their seamers from experimenting with friendly bilateral. Pakistan gets the same practice opportunities in these matches but no...they want 200 year old Afridi to play every game like its world cup semi finals. Thats the main reason they can never beat India in big matches.
