State department has had a policy about using of personal mail for official purposes. It has been effective since 2005. But Hillary set up a private domain and use personal email using that account. It is a clear violation. The issue with this is her personal account will be considered vulnerable to hacking . So any sensitive and confidential information exchange using that id will be considered as a clear violation. Another accusation she had to contend with (actually Obama had to contend with) during last election was Benghazi issue where US diplomat was killed. Prior to the attack they asked for escalation of security which was denied by the state department. Subsequently Hillary accepted the responsibility for the lapse. Now that it is discovered she used a personal email for official purposes opposition pounced on her saying "Hillary had something hide about Benghazi that is why she used personal email". Now they want the emails to be made public. Considering Hillary was considered to be a strong presidential candidate Republicans are fully exploiting this scandal to tarnish her image. So i do no expect Hillary to run for presidency. Most popular democratic public choice is Elizabeth Warren. https://www.facebook.com/ElizabethWarren

Hillary will run for President and no two bit scandal can throw her off. Warren can have some good rallies but I don't see her doing well in the primaries. Would I have said the same thing about Obama's chances in 2007 ? Maybe :nervous:

Is Warren even running? She has said many times that she isn't.

She isn't only because of Hillary. Hillary is no saint. But she is no despicable either. Thanks to gerry mandering blue state will be blue state, red state will be red estate. Few swing states will determine the result. If they can reach out to those somehow overcoming these scandals she can beat anyone put up by Republicans. Till such time GOP will continue digging the dirt for Hillary. There is no telling what else they will come up with. On the other hand Warren is some sort of an activist. People love her. Celebrities love her. Actor Mark Ruffalo released a video supporting her. That all depends on Hillary's decision.

Not to mention, Liz Warren could become America's first Native-American President!! Jokes aside, even as a conservative, I would give her strong consideration. She is highly accomplished and knows what she's talking about.

This time irrespective of the dirt the republicans come up with, Hillary seems set to be the Democratic Nominee - a lot of stuff that could have come out has already come out in 2008 campaign so she's at an advantage there. The bigger problem will, as usual, be handling Prez Clinton and the HUGE coterie of supporters of the Clintons who all would expect something.

unless you prove otherwise ?
You brought it up. Prove it is a fundamentalist christian party. It's like me asking you to prove the Dem party is not a bunch of stoned, pot-smoking, promiscuous, communist hippies.

http://www.conservapedia.com/Republican_Party Good link. Their bottom line: The contemporary Republican Party represents a wide array of interests such as the conservative evangelicals and the economic libertarians. The party has had some internal conflict over attitudes about how governments should run and how large they should be, what the party stands for, and what the party's attitude towards neo-conservatism should be especially in regard to foreign policy. The party is also divided over immigration issues with some members (such as George W. Bush) favoring workers visas and permits and some other members favoring strict control of immigration and strong action against illegal immigration. Unlike the Democratic party, the Republican party routinely allows dissenting factions such as the Log Cabin Republicans to speak at National Conventions. http://www.salon.com/2012/08/05/republicans_slouching_toward_theocracy/ One guy's opinion. http://www.forwardprogressives.com/republican-party-rise-christian-sociopath/ A radical left organization's opinion. It's akin to the cons shouting that the Commies have taken over the Dem party. Like this: http://fellowshipoftheminds.com/2015/02/06/communist-party-admits-infiltration-takeover-of-democratic-party/ Or that Pres Obama is a Muslim http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/breaking-four-star-admiral-makes-huge-announcement-obama-muslim-brotherhood-video/ or this http://www.dcclothesline.com/2014/09/01/ex-cia-employee-admits-president-obama-radical-islamic-enemy-america/

So save the link wars. Republican controlled states are not theocratic. I live in one. We have lower taxes and higher growth than when the Dems in power. We'll have a balanced budget by the end of this year. Less than 6% unemployment. And I am an atheist who celebrates Diwali with my family, drives them to the Hindu temple, and supports gay marriage, but has still not been thrown in jail.

Republicans are stuck in a warp with rapidly evolving culture. With more young people getting a chance to vote more problems for republicans because social policies of youngsters will more likely to be liberal. Republicans cannot "efford" (vvs laxman commentary style) to drop some of their principles just because country is on a progressive path. Their voting base is largely conservative. I live in a highly conservative neighbourhood where they rate worksmanship of a contractor based on how faithful he is to god. True it happened to me. I was looking for a deck contractor. My neighbour told me "I know a contractor. He is very god fearing. He is good" . Majority of the old people cannot give up their conservative ideologies. Because of that Republicans cannot give up as well. I don't know how many of you guys have seen this stupid movie DIVERGENT. In that movie they put you in different groups where you have to follow their ideologies or else you will be left out or treated as divergent they will finish you. It is somewhat like that. In theory majority would be libtertarians. Romney was an example. Admitting that is considered a weakness among conservatives. So they have to follow some of the ideologies that they don't believe in. Second category is hardcore conservatives who often make some stupid statements and get exposed b y liberal media. It is a tough time . On the other hand Dems don't have to worry about their social policies. It is in step with current generation. So no need of extra effort to convince the voters. That leaves us with fiscal policy, healthcare policy etc. Lot of conservatives blame liberals are on food stamps. Yes there are few. By the same token there are some conservatives also on food stamps. Also there are lot liberals who are doctors, scientists, engineers. In this day and age using talking points like that will only hurt you more than help you. They have to convince their own voting base first then the country. So it is somewhat like a transition period for them.
