bharat297 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 And seriously ... why in the world would Ganguly open in Tests? LOL
Chandan Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 No point in discussing the XI for Australia tour before at least the XVI are announced. And the chance of any of the MO order batsmen being moved to other batting position from their current position is absolutely zero.
SachDan Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Now Parthiv Patel in with a chance.. as third opener!
Laaloo Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 VS. AUSTRALIA zaheer khan filtered 8 105 27 11.66 0 0 18 5/95 42.77 1 1 0 18 wkts in 8 matches agarkar filtered 9 104 44* 7.42 0 0 30 6/41 39.06 1 3 0 30 wkts in 9 matches
chamatkar Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Actually, Agarkar has a better avg against Aus IN AUS, it's 7 matches and 27 wickets. But I think he's lost a great deal of his "pace" over the years to make an impact on this tour. A newbie is definitely worth more than Mr AA.
Sachinism Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 is agarkar related to anyone on the selection committee coz this guy gets back in the team constantly even though everyone knows he sucks
guju24 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 gambhir is a good choice but agarkar...camon cant u find better bowler then him...that ranade bose giving consistence performance in ranji....this is sucks big time...
guju24 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 is agarkar related to anyone on the selection committee coz this guy gets back in the team constantly even though everyone knows he sucks vengsarkar...maratha sala.....bez him jaffar made his debut in one day series in south africa...this is the worst part abt indian selection committee who ever comes bring their region players...it should be like aus....perform and get ur place in the team...
Sachinism Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 gambhir is a good choice but agarkar...camon cant u find better bowler then him...that ranade bose giving consistence performance in ranji....this is sucks big time... Bose does really deserve a chance, as you've pointed out he's consistently been performing well
SachDan Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 So its official. No Sehwag in OZ party! Aakaash Chopra looks like a certainity from the 24 probables picked. One last chance for KKD to be in the playing X1.
chamatkar Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Yay! Better sense prevailed ...now how often does that happen in Indian cricket! Shwetabh ... here's the confirmation - http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/indvpak/content/current/story/323852.html
apocalypse Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 i know it sounds stupid but take off parthiv patel and draft sehwag in probables
talksport Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Seems very strange to announce probables for a Test Tour.....
The Outsider Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Damn, more that the probables list it's the squad for the 3rd Test which is worrying : Squad for 3rd Test against Pakistan Squad: Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk), Anil Kumble (capt), Harbhajan Singh, VRV Singh, Murali Kartik, Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma. No Zaheer, no Munaf, no RP Singh. VRV "pansy" Singh or Ishant "up and down" Sharma will be opening the bowling for us!!:banghead:
The Outsider Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Seems very strange to announce probables for a Test Tour..... They were supposed to have announced the squad today but decided to wait till after the third test. The chai, biscut, and samosas have to be justified in some way.
Cricketics Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 man really nice to see aaakash in the lost.. hope he is in the short list also once it is released sucks that sehwag isn't there
Chandan Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 24 probables for Australia tour Anil Kumble, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Ganguly,Aakash Chopra, Gautam Gambhir,Parthiv Patel RP Singh, Munaf Patel, Zaheer Khan, VRV Singh, Pankaj Singh, Ishant Sharma, Ranadeb Bose, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Murali Kartik, Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla, ------------------------------------- Sehwag not even in 24 probables? And is Sree ruled out of entire tour? What is the reason behind having 24 probables and not 25?
Cricketics Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 nice to have Gambhir and chopra in the list
