MCGGG Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Very different batsmen, I'd go with Bevan if there was a lower order batting collapse, but Dhoni if you needed big runs fast. One of Bevans greatest assets was his running between Wkts, he's an ATG at that art.

Dhoni can do everything Bevan could, and do more. Bevan lacked the ability to hit sixes which could be a serious issue for Bevan in one-one comparison with Dhoni.

Kalia_Test Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Bevan and Dhoni is a good comparison as they are in a league of their own ( only Klusener and Symonds for brief periods are comparable). No one else in world comes close to them. Between them, Dhoni edges it for his big hitting as others mentioned. Running between wickets, rotating strike , waiting for lose balls,etc are all very similar.
gaurav92 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Both are quality finishers. Bevan was The best finisher of his time, and Dhoni is the best finisher of the modern era. The likes of Klusner and Hussey were other great finishers too.
