Post re-entry, the country impressed everyone in that world cup esp. the fielding - Jonty running out Inzi is still remembered by many. On the basis of some impressive performance in the group stage, SA entered SF where it took on the men in blue (Eng). However, its first KO WC game was about to be turned in to a nightmare. The bowling, its strength, was wayward. That bowling performance was amongst the worst bowling performance in that tourney. When SA was chasing, the rain poured and D&L read 22 runs of 7 balls. IIRC, it poured again and the equation was 22 of 1 ball (or something like that) .... And since then, the world cup KOs have been a nightmare for this team. Today, it is SCG again in another KO game. The men in blue (SL) are batting first. However this time, SA's bowling performance has been exceptional, having reduced SL to 127/9. The rains have come again. There is a reserve day tomorrow. And if it still rains, SA will probably go through by virtue of finishing 2nd in its group (SL finished 3rd in its group). Unlike the last time, the rain could help SA as the relatively wet ball would skid off the pitch. So the big question is - Will SL somehow reach to a fighting total (WI's last wkt did that vs. Pak in one of the WCs), reduce SA to a 60/5 situation, and go on to win the game? Or is the situation set where SA will turn its KO games fortune around at the venue where the jinx started? Is this the day, where things finally will go SA's way? Is this the day when SA will finally smile? The rains have stopped and the game has started ....

However, a win here does not necessarily mean that SA have turned the corner as if you are playing for e.g. Scotland in a KO, you are likely to win despite pressure. SL had peaked early and is known to choke as well :P
