I would also add Dhoni, when in flow, those pull shots will be murder someone Dhawan and Raina are suspect. Jaddu is a hack. Ashwin can ease pull shots for singles. Jadeja pull shot is better than dhoni especially outside offstump short deliveries.

They confuse between stroke play and slogging. There are few shades of Inzy in Maqsood's batting, but ultimately Inzy was more solid. I remember many times Inzy blocking out Kumble in tests, temperament and shot selection was better. Maqsood is a slogger yes.

Just cause Jadeja plays a few pulls it means nothing. Raina can do same. Or in IPL versus rubbish bowlers, flat pitches. Dhoni is great on the pull, not only girls but pull shot too. He has very fast hands, back in the crease. In fact when he is in that kind of form they tend to bowl wide outside off stump, not short bowling. Dhoni in full flow will destroy fast bowlers all round the park. Short bowling, even yorkers will be hit as he gets deep in his crease. Only option in this form is wide outside off as mentioned. I hope he does this one more time :((

nevada Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 A mediocre team which played mostly as expected - the usual batting implosion with "tailunted" young ones Shezad and Akmal doing diddly squat, some hostile bowling from their bowlers but not enough to win. Reaching the quarter finals itself is a big achievement for them. They can take consolation from the fact that they beat South Africa, one of the top contenders for the cup.
