Precambrian Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 At no 6 and No 7 and No 8, you need power hitters as they won't have time to play touch cricket. Jaddu and Ashwin in lower order when chasing a tight score is simply disgusting to see. if you are going to rely on no.7 and no.8, then stop playing cricket as well. India rightly aimed at solidifying their top order and middle order to do the job, which they did till today.
Precambrian Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Out of those 7 only 1 team was good ' date=' the rest are all which can win a fluke victory but they all were very beatable[/quote'] Aha, so 7 wins were fluke and only this loss counts. Fantastic lahori logic.
Precambrian Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Names like Yusuf pathan doing the rounds make me tear my hair apart. ****ing stupid.
BeautifulGame Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 If we just want pure sloggers we can simply play the likes of Pandey Y Pathan Uthappa or Jadav or even Rayadu We don't lack power hitters we lack all rounders who r power hitters . Also at home its much easier to slog than in overseas conditions like Australia
hazharoon Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 What could Jaddu have done. Game was lost with Rahane and Dhoni
Tiger80 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Aha' date=' so 7 wins were fluke and only this loss counts. Fantastic lahori logic.[/quote'] Where did I say that 7 were fluke victories. What I am saying that SA was good , Pak , bang, WI are capable of fluke victories against India but these are not world class teams and yes this loss matter because in this format only 3 victories matter if you are good team.
rkt.india Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Being power hitter you need power. How is IPL going to make them powerful? It is a natural trait. Either it comes to you or not. The reason we never had too many power hitters.
CG Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 if you are going to rely on no.7 and no.8, then stop playing cricket as well. India rightly aimed at solidifying their top order and middle order to do the job, which they did till today. Yes true. 9 out of ten times you loose when your top order does not get runs.Even aus will struggle to chase 300 if top order does not contribute you saw how hard it was for lower order we did bowl well to mitch..
MK55 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Jadeja and Ashwin are pathetic lower order bats. We desperately need some good hitters. If that all rounder is a fast bowling all rounder so be it. One of the reasons MS is persisting with Jadeja is because he is not comfortable with a seam bowler as no 7. This has to change. We can't have no 7/8 batters that are so hopeless with the bat. Australia has got Faulkner/Johnson and we have to tolerate Jadeja/Ashwin.
TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Sarfaraz Khan will take that slot some time in the future.
StriKe Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 You realised that now ? This.. Jaddu is useless with bat out India, everyone know that. Please don't recommend Yusuf and Irfan now
Precambrian Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 What could Jaddu have done. Game was lost with Rahane and Dhoni Precisely. Its unbelievable how some deluded posts are talking about having lower order hitters as if it could have saved this. If the top 5 did their job well, there would be no need for Dhoni and Jadeja or Ashwin to crib about. You don't chase 328 with half of your side gone under 100 and then relying on so called "powaar hitters". Johnson's effort with the bat today was more of poor bowling with all due credit to him. He was fed length after length in his areas and he smoked. Zaheer Khan once smoked a bowler for 4 consecutive sixes so that make him a lower order powaar hitter? Johnson averages 16 with the bat. This suggests its often that he misses than hit, today just happened to be the latter. Too much generalizing. Where we failed was with our bowling effort. Gave away 20-25 than we should've done with. But on top of that all, we lost to a very good team in these conditions. No shame in that.

Where was this "hard hitters" when Aussies failed to post even 160 vs NZ? In fact, the very hardhitters being hardhitters meant they all went for glory and ending up all out for 155 odd. People need to look at both sides. Had Aus then had a player like Jadeja or Ashwin, perhaps they'd last the 50 overs and got to 220-225 which could've won them the game then.
sensible-indian Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 if you are going to rely on no.7 and no.8, then stop playing cricket as well. India rightly aimed at solidifying their top order and middle order to do the job, which they did till today. No..... No 6 and No 7 won't win you games by itself. But they would matter in a TIGHT chase. Like in SA - NZ game.
Precambrian Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 No..... No 6 and No 7 won't win you games by itself. But they would matter in a TIGHT chase. Like in SA - NZ game. Conversely, had Williamson and Taylor done their stuff well, there wouldn't be the need for the "tight chase" in the first place. Also, never knew Grant Elliot could be called a "powaar hitter" :giggle: Corey Anderson scored at run a ball as well. It was not power hitting that saved NZ but cool headedness of Elliot and **** ups by SA.
kosingh Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Been saying this for years. Now players will come back home after 5 months and immediately have to go for IPL. No time to rest or to work on any weaknesses discovered in this long tour. As for lack of hitters - slam bang cricket cannot create quality hitters. During time off, not many in Indian team work on their weaknesses. They enjoy samosas, butter chicken and laddoos
Precambrian Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 And how conveniently we forget our winning % in ICC tournaments.
Cricket_Hacker Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 Jab kuch na ho to blame IPL. IPL has not produced a single bowler who can bowl at the death or a single batsman who can bat at the death for India.Am i wrong?
