The headline on TOI is "5 terrorists shot dead." Their reporting is farcical . the reporter seems to be a mere stenographer.

WARANGAL: Five ISI activists were killed in police firing near Aleru town on Hyderabad-Warangal national highway 163 in Nalgonda district on Tuesday morning
what is an ISI activist ?
The police opened fire when the ISI activists attacked them in a bid to escape. A police team was escorting ISI activist Vicaruddin and four others in a van from Warangal jail to Hyderabad for production in a court when the incident took place. Police said the ISI activists attacked the escort party and snatched their guns forcing the other security guards to open fire. The firing took plact at an isolated place about three km away from Aleru town
So these prisoners / Terrorists /ISI activists were being from a transported from a Jail in a van to be produced in Court when they were able to snatch the weapons from the security guards and all of them were shot dead in an isolated place ? Presumably these prisoners were also not handcuffed ? Familiar story. LINK

yes , good riddance if the police is being truthful. 5 prisoners killed just before they were to be presented in court. Hopefully they were all terrorists & murderers . that way we can ignore the discrepancies in the police version.

Is it just me or AP/Hyd police are getting a little too trigger happy ? This happened today. http://www.firstpost.com/india/andhra-pradesh-20-red-sandalwood-smugglers-killed-in-encounter-with-police-in-chittoor-2187185.html

At least 20 red sander smugglers were killed on Tuesday in two gunfights with police in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district, police said. The gunfights occurred in Seshachalam forest at around 5 am in two places within a radius of one km in Chandragiri mandal of Chittoor, about 500 km from Hyderabad. The twenty people who were killed were woodcutters hired by the red-sander smugglers, according to The Hindu. The report also said that this is the highest death toll in a single encounter with the police in the history of red-sanders smuggling. The encounter took place when members of the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Special Task Force (RSASTF) were engaged in combing operations in Srinivasa Mangapuram, Srivarimettu and Eethangunta. When the task force arrived at the spot, the smugglers, along with the help of some labourers, attacked the police with stones and axes, after which the policemen opened fire on them, according to reports. Some police and forest personnel were also injured in the face-off, police said. "Twenty red sander smugglers have died at two places. There was an exchange of fire with our task force personnel. They (smugglers) were carrying red sander logs and attacked the police and forest personnel with sickles and fire arms. They also attacked the personnel with stones," Additional DGP (Law and Order) RP Thakur told PTI. After the police personnel came under attack, they retaliated, he said. Deputy Inspector General of Police Kanta Rao told reporters that over 100 smugglers and labourers helped them to attack policemen, forcing them to open fire in self-defence. "The smugglers, once challenged by the police, tried to overpower the security personnel and carry away the logs. In the process, they attacked the policemen," Thakur said. "Most of the smugglers are from Tamil Nadu...they regularly come in our area and cut red sanders which is transported in small vehicles to different places," he said. The red sander woodcutters come in large numbers of around 100. There is a master organiser who sends the wood cutters. Two of the killed smugglers were international smugglers, according to Deccan Chronicle. There have been similar incidents last year also in which the red sander smugglers attacked police and forest personnel, who too retaliated resulting in killing of some of the smugglers. In May last year, a group of around 200 red sander smugglers had attacked a police team with stones in Mamanduru forests in Chittoor prompting them to fire in the air. Prior to that, a group of around 50 smugglers had attacked a police party with axes while they were on a combing operation in Seshachalam forest. Red sanders grows mainly in Seshachalam hill ranges spread across Kadapa, Chittoor and Kurnool in the Rayalaseema region and parts of Nellore district in AP. It is a valued item in traditional medicines and woodcraft across China, Myanmar, Japan and East Asia.

People really don't realize what they are supporting here
Why don't you give your take and let us know what you think. You think the police should have just laid down arms and get killed?

Judging by the reaction in MSM and social media , people would say : Cops are showing initiative. What is the need for courts and trials at tax payer's expense when the Police can decide who is guilty and provide instant justice.

Difficult to take the version that police is giving. There seems to be discrepancies. I am sure there would be enqiries of the incident. Most of the encounters are staged while commuting prisoners between court and jail.

As usual OP spreading lies without checking further in such sensitive cases..but this is nothing new anyway.

All the five terrorists were being taken to a court in Telangana's capital Hyderabad from Warangal when they attacked the police officials escorting them. According to police officials, the terrorists also tried to snatch the weapons and escape after which the security personnel opened fire killing all of them. OK. Till the enquiry is done, what is wrong in believing Police version? Between suspected ISI militants and police, I would believe Police ( unless proved otherwise ).

My take regarding the 1st incident of the prisoners: 1. Perhaps the Police should learn to HANDCUFF and restrain the prisoners before transporting them ? This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. 2. If they were already handcuffed and properly restrained , how were they able to snatch the weapons from the police ? Snatching a weapon from a Cop should be more difficult than snatching candy from a child . 3. The prisoners were inside a VAN . How did they jump out of a VAN ? Was the Van not secured ? Just simple questions that all of us should be asking . NOBODY is denying the Police's right to defend itself.

Just watched this video ( it is in Telugu ). Shows police van, damage, etc. http://www.tvhub.in/watch/abn-andhra-jyothi/warangal-isi-agent-encounter--visuals-of-dead-bodies-of-terrorists-07---04---2015/4iNyx8n1ZUM/ Much more clear on the police version. Nothing suspicious. This is not the first time they attacked police while in custody. They had to be shifted to multiple jails too. Lot of details on what each guy is accused off, etc. Too much to translate.

Thank god its not Gujarat. Bleeding hearts would have been up in the arms.
This is too trivial for Gujarat. Wives with no criminal charges come in a kill one kill one more free package there.
