Zap_Brannigan Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 This year in the UK, IPL is being broadcast on sky sports for the very first time. The match analyses is done by the usual gang of experts warne, cook, knight, Vaughn along with sky's matt llyod in the usual sky style "stand over a curved table". Compared to the ITV coverage over a last few years, i find it pretty bland. Warne is still talking about his time in the IPL, years ago while the others have very little knowledge about the indian domestic players. For all her faults, shonali nagrani along with matt smith and isa guha kept it fun last year. Akash chopra knew the domestic players in the squads and the general atmosphere was kept light and fun. Even with sky sports 2 turning into an IPL channel (in that they show the full games 3 times a day), i am not enjoying this coverage.
flamy Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Sony SIx coverage is great fun. But I won't have it once I get to US :((

G_B_ Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 agree with the OP Skysports is too bland... ITV was fun. I dont think Akash Chopra would have been in the studio this year. Guess he has moved up with skysports
sensible-indian Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 If only Sony would throw out that Sidhu idiot, throw out those "oh my eyes, it hurts" kinda graphics and those embarassing cheerleaders INSIDE the frigging studio, things could be a lot better for us watching IPL in India.
Texy Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Sky sports coverage reflects British sex life...dull, boring and leaves all party unsatisfied
Zap_Brannigan Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 Almost forgot the cringe worthy pre-match team analysis by VVS Laxman.

someone Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 They have the same style of coverage for the England matches. And I prefer this coverage over the Set Max. It's all about cricket, technical points, not dancing.
flamy Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Thok Do Counter :woot: Going neckto neck with the Sixes 55 vs 76 :nervous:
