Modi's Government Foreign Trips & External Affairs

There is time for 2019. But Foreign trips are important right now as China is bit down. Also just sending foreign minister will not work as other leaders want assurance from Top guy.

All I'm saying is to balance these trips with meeting public at grass root level. He can do it if he wishes to... 2019 will be too late as all the forces have united against him...

Today BJP lost a LS ByPoll in MP...

Won 2 assembly seats in Manipur.... There is no guarantee [almost nil] in repeating 2014 for BJP in future. But let him try to improve relationships with countries as much as possible. There are many countries where India's PM went decades back.

^^^^ And what tells you he doesn't meet with local people? The opposition? Well, if you take their words seriously, then India is intolerant, Tipu Sultan was great being, Memom was innocent, and so many other things.

Perception is a short issue and changes frequently with time. What matters is both good and bad things are equally well-noted. Modi has been leading the nation well and that's should be praised.

Show me any information which shows Modi taking time out to visit grass root public? Don't mention about rallies and events...

Perception is not a short issue... Nobody's is saying he's not leading we'll but he shouldn't ignore the perception battle..,

He can fly around every week. Nobody's stopping him. You are missing the point... Winning assembly seats won't help in passing important bills...

Modi assures India's assistance of $30 million at Paris Climate Summit, launches solar alliance with Hollande

Paris: Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with French President Francois Hollande on Monday jointly launched the International Solar Alliance and pledged India's assistance of $30 million for the initiative that brings together developed and developing countries.

Modi also announced that India will host the initiative in the premises of the National Institute of Solar Energy in Gurgaon, Haryana. He said that India will provide land and contribute about $30 million to build the Secretariat infrastructure of the initiative and support its operation for the next five years.

UN Secretary General also hailed Prime Minister Modi's initiative saying, "I welcome the initiative of PM @narendramodi. The @UN will work to make it a success." To highlight the importance of solar energy, Modi said that in Indian tradition, Sun is the source of all forms of energy.

Oct 2015 , modi Govt : "Talks and terror cannot go together "

Dec 6 2015 In a sudden breakthrough, National Security Advisors of India and Pakistan held talks in Bangkok on Sunday on a wide gamut of bilateral ties including terrorism and Jammu and Kashmir, and agreed to take forward the “constructive” engagement.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his Pakistani counterpart Nasir Janjua also discussed peace and security and other issues including tranquility along the LoC.

The meeting is a major breakthrough given that the two sides had engaged in mutual blame game earlier in September this year resulting in cancellation of the NSA—level talks and stalling the interaction process as was agreed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in July in Russian city of Ufa.

Since they are talking,  we have to presume pakistan has stopped sponsoring terror against India ? :hmmm:

^

from that article

The last scheduled talks in Delhi broke up over the issue of Pakistani consultations with Kashmiri separatists. By holding the talks unannounced and in a third country, that issue never arose

Kashmiri separatists have met with the Pakistani high commissioner on Monday .  The writer should update himself .

Not only have the 2 joint statements (NSA & MEA ) mentioned discussions on Jammu & Kashmir (with no mention of PoK) , but the pakis have also held consultations with Kashmiri separatists in INDIA .

So basically , modi govt has agreed to everything that they disagreed with in August after Ufa.

Dec 15 2015 : Kashmir separatists, meanwhile, said they held a detailed meeting with Pakistan high commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, in New Delhi to discuss the recent meetings of external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj with Sharif and his adviser Sartaj Aziz

Spokesperson of hardline Hurriyat Conference, Ayaz Akbar, said party chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s personal secretary Peer Saifullah and chief organiser Altaf Ahmad Shah met Basit, deputy high commissioner and the other officials.

“The Hurriyat delegation handed them a message of Geelani Sahab that Pakistan should continue to maintain consistency and firmness over its Kashmir policy and play an active role in highlighting the human rights violations committed by Indian forces in Jammu & Kashmir on the international forums,” Akbar said.
