G_B_ Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I feel the ingredients are there to make a T20 in England a bit hit!!! They just need a dedicated window maybe in July for say 3 weeks. The problems are are it clashes with the major cricket series at the time which is England v Aus, India, SA , Pakistan. Cant play in June cause of potential weather issues and clashing with UEFA and FIFA events. I do hope one day the BCCI does allow our players to participate in this. Maybe not the first team players, but the likes of Shreyas Iyer etc can go there to gain experience or even T20 specialists like Yusuf Pathan etc.
G_B_ Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Indeed every man and his dog can see where our weakness is in T20 but we still went for two big hitting batsmen in Maxwell and Finch when he arrives. Much rather have had Faulkner' date= whose.bowling at the death along with young Edwards, compared to our pathetic attempts, proved to be the difference. Anyway I must't neglect to congratulate Buttler. Even if you're being bowled tripe you still have to put it away I am guessing thats not a good idea... Faulkner is a good addition cause of his runs and bowling. but his death bowling has been terrible.

Maybe his decent performance yesterday says more about our lack of firepower in the lower middle order then! Still bowled better than Bres and Plunkett, which wouldn't be difficult
sscomp32 Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Stokes 40 in 28 while batting and 44 in 18 while bowling :haha:
YCCC Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Stokes 40 in 28 while batting and 44 in 18 while bowling :haha: Wow those figures are worthy of a Yorkie bowler in T20. Normally I'd have recorded it while out playing this afternoon but couldn't stomach any more T20 blast after yesterday
YCCC Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 The Bairstow stuff didn't matter in the end, as we posted 209-4 , with Maxwell 92* and replacement keeper Hodd made 70. Won by 40 runs
YCCC Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Umar Akmal is having a great T20 blast so far. He is but I believe last night was his last game and he's being replaced by Grant Elliot.
X-Factor Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 He is but I believe last night was his last game and he's being replaced by Grant Elliot. Think he's going to the CPL? Would probably be better off playing for Leics, as he would have got opportunities in the FC format as well, which would do him a world of good, as temparament is his biggest issue. (He played one FC game for Leics and made 13 & 20)

Maxwell has been bad enough in the two he's played for Yorkshire, and it remains to be seen what Finch will be like
