Wanted to see dad and son(Tagenarine Chanderpaul) in action together one day, they both play for Guyana presently. Sad that it is never going to happen. :((

Its an open secret amongst most Indo-Caribbeans that Lloyd is no fan of the Indo-Caribbeans. Not as in he hates the Indo-Caribbeans, he just prefers the Afro-Caribbeans a bazillion times more kind of a deal. Anyhoos, this whole farewell series deserved or not is a smokescreen. What is of focus, is did Chanderpaul deserve to be dropped after 2 bad series simply due to his age ? Its no secret that batsmen, especially in the latter part of their career, go through stretches of good and bad form. It is ultimately no excuse to retain a terminally declining batsman, what i think is a better question, is did 10 innings of mediocrity against two very decent bowling attacks ( South Africa and England) merit a 'he is done' tag or is 10 innings under the 'ups and downs of forms that has to be accommodated for a veteran proven player, if no one else is knocking on the selection committee's doors really loudly' ? I personally feel it is the latter case. If Chanderpaul had failed against the Aussies too, then I'd have dropped him.
