zen Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Hope your post made you happy about the choices that you might have made in life :two_thumbs_up: Discussing problems of NRIs = Ignoring India's problems #canadalogic  You are drawing conclusion like Pak now .... see what anger does :hysterical: Become normal now :nice:
Kalia_Test Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 :two_thumbs_up: good for you where as I donate my extra surplus $$$ to Nepal earthquake' date='Haiti earthquake, fund scholarship for a poor girls education in India etc all while getting tax write offs....woo hoo USA USA USA[/quote'] Thanks for your funds and tax benefits :two_thumbs_up: I dont have dollars so can only volunteer and teach poor girls some English and maths and geography ( where I will surely show where the holy USA is and the tiny dots where there is some "safety" ) with a blackboard ( funded by you great donors ) and chalk pieces ( which I humbly submit - we can fund ourselves with admittedly some difficuly - developing country you see ).

zen Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Thank you for this comical thread on "NRI specific" problems .... Had a good laugh :hysterical: PS Thankfully various govts don't give easy visa to everyone in the subcon or probably more than 50% of "us" would be packing. The NRI specific problems would only have gone up making Kalia spend more time on ICF and less on doing his volunteer work to uplift Ind :P
Kalia_Test Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Thank you for this comical thread on "NRI specific" problems .... Had a good laugh :hysterical: Thanks for your visit on Air-Canada - We will wash the seat covers and flush the toilets soon.:two_thumbs_up: Hope your onward journey is hassle-free :two_thumbs_up:

randomGuy Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I may have skimmed through that thread so don't recall the details ....Originally, I from Gujarat where women are safe. So for me it is not an issue .... However, I have heard some horror stories from folks from North on crime against women and goondagardi. To support such claims, there are comments from political leaders stating "Boys will be boys", so such concerns on Ind are not invalid If women and kids in Ind are not treated fairly, Ind deserves to be maligned. On one hand, we actively criticize countries such as Pak for what's wrong out there and on the other hand, take up arms against those who may have a genuine concern with respect to Ind. If this is our attitude, how can we blame Pakistanis for supporting their country despite the state of affairs out there? To me, the concept of this thread appeared to be on the lines of "NRI maligned Ind, so let's malign NRIs". IF my assumption on the thread is correct, such attitude will not help those living a hard life in Ind Make no mistake, Ind is still a developing nation. Its infrastructure, pollution level, corruption, waste management, overpopulation, treatment of women, crime against kids, disorder (including traffic), etc. are pathetic .... If that NRI only referred to situation of women in Ind to not raise her daughter in this overpopulated and scary country, she was probably being generous to Ind. It is not her problem, if some people want to be delusional about Ind (much like many in the neighboring countries) Looking at a macro level, If you are religious, look at the number of religions that were born in India. How many Gods have come to teach the population what is right. Why would so many Gods have to come to this part of the world to teach the people what's right if the people were that good? .... Despite getting such invaluable lessons, has the population learned anything? .... Appears as if people in India don't learn and try to sweep things under the carpet. Whose fault is it if Ind gets criticized? PS If people in the subcontinent were so progressive why would the land turn from a land of golden birds to a land of snake charmers? Ind has destroyed its own self! ] Post reeks of ur selfishness and inferiority complex. Keep your miserable self away from India. Will be best for both yourself and for India.:two_thumbs_up:

And yeah - it will be best if such guys are away from India. Good for all of us :nice:

Good for all of us :nice:[/quote'] I went to India in March and took my nieces scooty for a drive in that ridiculous dust and pollution.....I was getting a panic attack with all that noise pollution from pointless honking....now if that was not bad enough,I had 3 or 4 moments where I almost got ran over.......I was sick for 2 days after this which almost ruined my vacation. I pondered am I overreacting,am I too sensitive,I used to literally ride my bike in peak summers of Hyderabad or even Mumbai in that 100+ degree afternoons with all that same pollution!I enjoyed it the ??? So what happened am I this snobby nri? Simple answer I just got used to living in a cleaner and pollution free environment in a great country where no one is above law....just that the quality of life that I got used to,I could never live like that ever again It's like a telugu saying pandhi kemi telusu ponds powder suvaasana. Which means a pig might never understand fragrance that comes from ponds powder :--D

The post stinks of his apologetic, inferior feeling as an Indian.

Do something as an indian and then criticize nris......we live in the better world so we see more flaws so nothing wrong with it.

The post stinks of his apologetic, inferior feeling as an Indian. How many nris have you seen generalizing or making such comments? You are the one stereotyping....the lady was a moron but rather than focusing on an idiot, why don't you see flaws in India which makes people chase $$$ dreams and stay afloat in these countries in adversity? This is not that different from the paki posters here who claim Pakistan is a superpower and everything is hunky dory in their country. Yeah we are he best place to live in the subcontinent but that is no way a benchmark lol

There is nothing you can do about it except shower abuses :P

I can't stand the generalized proclamations like 'India is unsafe for women' and coming for our own people settled abroad (the NRIs), it sounds 10 times worse. Anyways, you are free to say whatever you want and I will just end with a sorry for the harsh words.

We have many threads in both CC and Politics section where we all have criticized India and continue to do so. However, what does a thread on NRI parents and other issues have to do with BJP donations, Modi, pollution, infrastructure, traffic jams, etc ? Come on dude :two_thumbs_up:
