swatpulla Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Gurdaspur: In an early morning attack in Punjab, terrorists opened fire at Gurdaspur police station on Monday. Two people have died while ten people including seven civilians and three policemen have been injured in the attack. A station house officer has also been injured. Four terrorists are holed up inside the police station in Dinanagar in the Gurdaspur district of Punjab. Firing is still on. Terrorists are said to have first attacked a state roadways bus and then entered the police station. The terrorists are dressed in Army uniform. Six-seven families of the police officers staying in nearby residential quarters have been held hostage by the terrorists. The gunmen are heavily armed and are carrying automatic weapons with them. Sources say, they are also carrying AK47 rifles. The firing began around 5 am. Meanwhile, 5 suspicious objects have been found at the Pathankot-Dinanagar railway track. TWENTY ONE Serial Bomb blasts struck Ahmedabad on 26th July 2008 killing 56 people and injuring over 200 people . most Indians , MSM and the Govt ignored the anniversary yesterday only to be reminded of the scourge of Terrorism a day later.

In that case, will see what steps the Ind govt. takes - esp. if this is seen as a Pak sponsored attack on Ind

There were reportedly five to six policemen at the police station when it was attacked. (Pics) Before they attacked the police station at about 5.45 am, the terrorists opened fire at a Punjab Roadways bus. Seven people are said to be injured in the attacks so far. Five live bombs were found at a railway track not far from the Dinanagar police station, pointing to a well-planned attack intended to cause maximum damage, the police said. Rail traffic between Dinanagar and Pathankot has been stopped. The Pathankot highway has been closed. Search operations are on for any more live ammunition that might have been planted. After they crossed into India, the terrorists hijacked a white Maruti 800. They drove up to the police station in it and opened fire, killing the policeman on guard duty, before storming inside and killing another policeman. The Army has reached Dinanagar to reinforce the police, who have cordoned off the area. The elite National Security Guard or NSG is on standby. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said he has instructed the Border Security Force or BSF to 'step up vigil on the India-Pakistan border' in the wake of attack in Gurudaspur. Rajnath Singh also tweeted, "Spoke to Punjab Chief Minister Shri Prakash Singh Badal who apprised me of the developing situation in Gurudaspur...Also spoke to Home Secretary and NSA." Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has rushed the state Director General of Police to the spot, the state government said. It said the Chief Minister was closeted with advisors and was "keeping close minute to minute watch on the situation." Dinanagar borders Pathankot which has many key Army establishments.
