HippoSucks Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Graeme Swann has mocked former England team-mate Kevin Pietersen on an Australian radio show. Swann, a talented impressionist, is appearing throughout the Ashes on Triple M Radio's 'Willow Talk'. He appeared as Pietersen, who was axed by England in the wake of the humiliating Ashes whitewash Down Under in 2013/14 and remains in the international wilderness, in a mock interview with co-hosts and former Australia players Mark Waugh and Matthew Hayden. Hayden read out a recent Pietersen tweet which read: "Batting as well as ever and the team have huge issues with the top order! What a waste, just lying on a beach! I wish I could help!" He then asked 'Pietersen' why he was not attempting to prove his case by batting for Surrey – for whom he made 355 not out against Leicestershire in the County Championship, even as England director of cricket Andrew Strauss was announcing his continued exile due to "massive trust issues". Swann responded in his Pietersen accent: "Well, the thing is Kevin has to go all over the world to create massive awareness of how good he is. "I played for Surrey, I was told to average highly and I averaged 150 in my time at the bottom half of Division Two. Sure, one of my innings was 350 not out and apart from that my highest score was 12 (Pietersen did in fact make 53no against Glamorgan), but that shows KP is a big player, a big-time player. "Not a lot of people know this, but (Hayden) called me FIG JAM. It was the nicest nickname because what it means is 'Flip I'm Good, Just Ask Matty'. It just showed how high the regard for me was with Matt Hayden. What an awesome guy." Australia's nickname for Pietersen in fact stood for "**** I'm Good, Just Ask Me." Swann continued to parody Pietersen's scoring against lesser opposition – Leicestershire had not won a Championship game for almost three years at the time of his triple-hundred. "I scored 200 against a team who hadn't won for three weeks, three years... it doesn't matter because no matter who KP bats against he will score runs," he said. "It was a practice game in St Lucia, but it doesn't matter. Those guys bowling were awesome. They had to have a day off school to play, but they bowled well. "Listen, I am ready at any stage to come back to play for my country – or England if they ask as well." Hayden signed off by asking 'Pietersen': "What do you think of Graeme Swann as a bloke?" Swann responded: "I never met anyone called Graeme Swann, at all. I deny that happened. Kevin Pietersen enjoyed playing with Kevin Pietersen. He was an awesome team guy and a great golfer." http://www.skysports.com/cricket/news/12123/9927270/graeme-swann-mocks-kevin-pietersen-on-australian-radio
kosingh Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 funny, but swanny comes across as a bit of a bullying jackass
HippoSucks Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Hilarious but some of the current England batsman can't score 300 against even a club side. Other county players also face these division 2 sides but do not score triple centuries either...
bihutoli Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Swann sounded funny! But who were the other two in the sound clip, sounded like a bully's dumb sidekicks!
Gollum Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 What a d!ck. Bullying culture in their dressing room must have been too much for KP.
