Harbhajan Singh's action-is it clean?

Looked like he was chucking merrily today? Should be called for chucking, will be very surprised if the authorities don't take action. It will actually be a great service to our team seeing that Kohli and Shastri won't let him go otherwise.

Now that the WC is over, they don't seem to care. Ajmal was chucking blatantly in Bangladesh, yet no action was taken. I am not watching this match, but if Harbhajan looks dodgy, he should be reported.

It looked to me like he got frustrated seeing his own bowling which was a few notches below the level at which the other two spinners were operating at. He must have been really desperate because of that and hence the chucking. At one point it looked like 4 balls every over weren't clean. Will be mighty surprised if he isn't reported after what I saw today. I am glad that ICC has come hard on chuckers for the past few months(advantage of big 3). Seeing that even Ojha wasn't spared Bhajji will need divine intervention to get out of this unscathed.

His action was doubtful in the Zimbabwe series but it doesn't look like that in this match so far. He should still be tested to make sure that he is clean but he is going to retire soon anyway.

Actually, I think that VK and Shastri will play him as the 2nd spinner everywhere in the 5 bowler attack, so he won't retire. Clear example of partisan selection.

Hopefully they at least consider that and rethink their decision. If the team is running 3 spinners then I do not mind having Harbhajan for the time being. Obviously with age he has declined a lot but he is still good at containing one end and occasionally picks up wickets.

The BCCI and the Indian team have repeatedly shown that they pursue their own agenda regardless. Look at the DRS for instance - most Indian fans want it. If we play 3 spinners and need a tighter option, Ojha is the man - he has an action that is well suited for constant repetition, landing the ball on a consistent line-and-length. In fact, if one looks at Herath's stats at Ojha's age, they were worse. Ojha can improve if given a longer rope.

Not happening. BCCI and team management doesn't give 2 hoots about what Indian cricket fans think. If the team is running 3 spinners why do you want Bhajji? Why not groom a youngster in his place? There are 20+ spinners with better stats than him in Ranji, why not allow one of them into the team so that he can learn from someone like Ashwin? He doesn't occasionally pick wickets anymore, an avg of 57 and SR of 101 is horrible, even a Kohli or Vijay can do that much. All he is doing now is allowing the batsmen to get set from his end and gain in confidence.

+1. If they want experience, they should go with Ojha. If they want a youngster to be groomed over a long period, go with Kuldeep or Gani.

Else he must play a few domestic matches and prove that he can reach his former heights. He was a very bright prospect for us.

After remodelled action, he was the only bowler who did well against Aus 'A' in the FC matches, if I remember correctly. Picked a 4-fer in 1 match and a 5-fer in the other.

An in form Ojha with this version of Ashwin and Mishraji will be a deadly combo.

On SC pitches, this would be the best option possible. Even in the pacers, Ishant and Aaron ought to be replaced with Shami and BK/Yadav. BK is a must since he's the best lower-order bat currently around - much better than Ashwin whose batting is sliding; Mishra and Bhajji are more of sloggers too.
