Ultimate_Game Posted October 18, 2015 Author Posted October 18, 2015 90s team was below average in ODIs, but they will beat the hell out of this current msd Indian team.90s team had in-form-SRT, Dravid, Kumble, Srinath, Azhar, Navjot Sidhu. All better players than today.Point is there are way too many similarities with the 90s team... everything depends on the top order and if we lose a couple of wkts early it's curtains for us as the lower order and tail is weakest in intl cricket. We couldn't chase to save our life in 90s and the same now thanks to the long tail and a weak lower order. The best way to win now is the same as it was in 90s, i.e. win the toss, bat first, hope one of the top order guys scores a big hundred and then pray our bowling (especially spinners) can defend the total.
Number Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 (edited) The game was lost not in the finishing part but in 30-40 overs by too much tuk tuking. We lost by some 15 runs and in 30-40 over Dhoni-Kohli made 40 runs. Shameful from two established ODI players. Edited October 18, 2015 by Number
Gollum Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 90s team at least used to win one ODI match every time they toured Aus, RSA, NZ. Add to the fact that they were tigers at home. This bunch won 0 matches in these 3 countries and worse are losing so many at home. 90s team would give this team a pasting of a lifetime. But to be fair we are missing Ashwin and Shami our 2 best bowlers by far.
