Test pitches must support bowlers and get results in 4-5 days. Recently pitches have been getting better, Thank you to SL Groundsmen, and hope Indian curators make balanced pitches where we get results too for 2015/2016. Refreshing and welcome change, not to get the 600-700 runs pitches in SL :omg: The 350+ runs per innings test pitches provide interesting Test matches, and that should be the aim of curators. If a batsman is super good, then he can score a century or double on it.

Pitches in SC (including Dubai) are quite result-oriented these days. Can't recollect all that many roads where batsmen have inflated averages. Even the SSC has bucked that trend in its last 2 Tests.

Pitches have been improving but I think we've been seeing results more because batting is getting worse. Batsman just can't stay out there for long periods anymore. One reason why Pujara's knock was so refreshing-- he was there for hours and hours. But overall I don't even remember the last time India put up 500.

That's true, neither can I. Sometime in Ind against Aus perhaps?

That's true' date=' neither can I. Sometime in Ind against Aus perhaps?[/quote'] We did score 495 against WI in the Sachin retirement series i.e. our last home series India scored 500 in all the tests of the Aus series as well apart from the final one in Delhi
