What would be the key to winning this Test series?

If it comes down to Ashwin and hacks like Jadeja and Mishra to bail us out, we will lose. Ashwin is regressing and the other two are clowns with the bat.

Play 6 batsmen and drop Mishra.

I really cant see how 4 batsmen in VJ , Virat , Rahane and Pujara will score every time . it just wont work on helpful pitches .

Definitely not, we should not go back to the defensive days of Dhoni

How are 4 bowlers defensive? Saha can't be trusted upon. Kohli is out of form. Dhawan is a hack. We are essentially down to Vijay, Pujara and Rahane. We badly need another batsman in there.

If helpful spin tracks are prepared, 7 batsmen make sense.

Even Vijay and Rohit can spin the ball if needed to give the main bowlers rest (if needed).

Its overseas and tough pitches where 5 bowlers are a bigger necessity than 7 batsmen (as part time spinners will be useless on pacy tracks).
