Our performances in ODIs ,while chasing against the big teams, have improved drastically in the last 6 years or so.

Win-loss ratio of 1.54 .....compared to 1.20 in the last 16 years and .....1.05 overall in our ODI history

Kohli averages 58, SR of 94  from 74 such matches.

Rohit, Dhoni and Dhawan have done very well too.

By and large, yes. However, the Aussies also had the advantage, for most part of the 90s and 2000s of having very strong ODI bowlers who could restrict opposition to chaseable totals. Profligacy of Indian bowlers, as we saw in the last series, proved to be a difference... as did the lack of big hitting of course towards the end overs.

Agree with everything you mentioned. Will just add that Aus also had great batting depth and & their players were mentally very tough & positive. They always played for winning which reflected in their attitude. Couple of examples:- think Aus were 85 odd for 4 wkts against Pak in 2003 WC, then came Symonds and hit 140+, helped Aus score in excess of 300. Rest is history. In another game, against Eng, Aus were in dire state after losing 8 wkts for 130 odd runs, but just when it looked like Eng would win the match easily, Andy Bichel & Bevan chased the remaining 70 odd runs in nearly 12 overs without losing any more wkts. Have rarely seen that sort of skill, attitude & self-belief in Indian players.

From 2010 , out of 91 ODIs where India have batted second, we have won 58, lost 29 and 4 had no results.

Quite good.

The 2003 WC is where both these examples are from - probably the pinnacle of their mental toughness at that point. The 2007 WC proved to be too much of a cakewalk for them.

Ya, it was an easy campaign for them in 2007. In fact, right after the 1996 WC and all through the noughties, barring a few series, they were pretty much invincible. They struggled a bit when players like McGrath, Warne, Gillespie, Gilly, Hayden, Ponting, Lee, etc retired, but came back strongly within a couple of years and again won the WC in 2015. They were most ruthless under Waugh & Ponting (nearly 80% of his tenure).

Absolute murder. Kohli's knock may have been greater (although I don't subscribe to it), but Dhobi's knock was sheer brutality. Scored about 60% of India's runs I think.
