vvvslaxman Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Controversial oscars because of dissatisfaction from black actors because there was not a single nomination. We heard enough about that from Chris Rock. Priyanka looked simple and elegant.
BlueBee Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 No surprise there. Alejandro had to get that!
vvvslaxman Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 I have not seen other actors or Leo for that matter. Hope he goes home happily. My most satisfying moment was when Ennio Morricone won the oscar at the age of 87.
BlueBee Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Knew it! FINALLY!leo's oscar @leososcarHONEY IM HOME!
BlueBee Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Very good to see Leo using the oscar platform to address a very serious global issue. Proud of you Leo!
BlueBee Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Why do Indians follow Oscars? What's wrong?
RedFever Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Disappointing Oscars for an indian fan, really hoped kejriwal will win it this time.
vvvslaxman Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Why do Indians follow Oscars? Hollywood movies are part and parcel of the world :) One connecting point for the entire world.

BlueBee Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBadiCVY-tk Chris Rock killed itHe was all gaga over making this oscar a controversial one. [emoji23] Unnecessary hooplah over the issue by some guys. "Everything is not sexist or racist"

vvvslaxman Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Hollywood movies, Agreed, but why Oscars? They are considered to be the highest recognition in the film industry across the world. Oscar following has been around for decades in India. Nothing new.

coffee_rules Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 They are considered to be the highest recognition in the film industry across the world. Oscar following has been around for decades in India. Nothing new. Only for American and Hollywood crazy fans of India. But if you want to see real quality cinema, try foreign films - Scandinavian, French, Iranian, Korean and Japanese movies. They are far better in quality than H.
vvvslaxman Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 Only for American and Hollywood crazy fans of India. But if you want to see real quality cinema, try foreign films - Scandinavian, French, Iranian, Korean and Japanese movies. They are far better in quality than H.We are never going to get exposed to such films. Even back in the 60s, 70s, 80s hollywood made a huge impact in Indian film making. Gregory Peck was a household name in the 60s, 70s . No other movies created impact around the world than hollywood. Not just India. We would have never heard of Jackie chan if he had not made impact in Hollywood, same with many artists. When it comes to provide platform for experimentation Hollywood is cut above the rest. Sure there are lots of garbage coming out too. I don't pay attention to awards anymore as it is rigged through hype, marketing.
