Now that the champions trophy is gone BCCI should test out a tournament between the IPL teams vs the top Syed Mushtaq Ali teams. it will be one sided but if it does well in the ratings then that could be used as a green light to increase the number of teams in the IPL. Plus it will give domestic teams more incentives to find T20 players to get Prize money and it will make the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament more competitive.

I still feel IPL is a good timepass tournament and should not be a yardstick for team selections. Coming to the topic, I don't think IPL is responsible for the recent successes.

Infact....i think.... Bumrah and Pandya will do wonderful job in ODi's as well

Yup Mumbai Indians. He had not even played a single FC match but MI found this guy out of nowhere, showed faith and played him. Now he is playing for India and what a find it has been.

Bumrah got an IPL contract after he was MOM in the final of the Syed mushtaq ali trophy I believe playing for Gujurat, and he got the international call up because of his non IPL domestic performances based on the fact that he only played 4 IPL matches last season going 3/184 at an economy rate of 12. Pandya also got an IPL contract after averaging 13 with the ball and 30 with the bat helping Baroda win the Syed mushtaq ali.

Domestic Cricket Associations still deserve all the credit and all the blame for providing talent or lack of talent to the international team. I think Pravin Tambe is the only player that the IPL truly discovered off the street.
