There are slightly cheaper T20i tks at the Rose Bowl for 6850R or so (sorry, on an Indian msg board feel I should make the effort to convert). But my mate who lives there has a baby due that week. 

 

He loves his cricket, but think that might be beyond the call! 

 

So north I go. Will watch a game or two with family at OT and hopefully, if dates combine, when Lancs decide Liverpool is worth the bother.

Oh dear

Surrey are another county not best thought of round these parts, especially the older generation who remember the days when Yorkshire and Surrey regularly fought it out for the title. I'll let you off on both counts though

As a side note, cricket is in fact more affordable to watch for the working class than football, which is an absolute rip off in comparison. £10 to watch Yorkshire in the CC or 50 overs, a full day's entertainment, £30 at least to watch Leeds United in the second division of English football for two hours "entertainment" (if you find watching Leeds United entertaining).

 

Even the cheapest Test match tickets at Headingley are £30, again for a full day's entertainment compared to a two hour football match

 

Yorkshire seems to be one of the rare counties in England where cricket has stronger history and tradition compared to football, so it's understandable that ticket prices are low compared to football games.

Post match presentation-Not a single appreciation of crowd by Sammy.

 

50000 people turned up and not even a single mention/acknowledgement of crowd support.I saw almost 80% of crowd support for WI, but not a single good word about crowd by Sammy.

 

Tell me why should the home crowd should support any other team other than India, when none if the non- Indian team doesnt even acknowledge the paying crowd.

 

Shame on you Sammy.

Kolkata was lively yesterday. After our exit, I thought it will be a big disappointment, but Kolkatans came out in huge numbers to support good cricket.

Bade aaye thay Indian crowd ko silence karne, West indies ne inko silence kr diya, shakley dekhi thi in commentators ki, sabke chehre par 12 bje hue thay, I just love it when someone shuts them up for good.

This whole sportive crowd nonsense is laughable. The local crowd comes to see their team win and help them in some way by getting under the skin of the opposition. It's called home field advantage. If the visitors so badly want supporters, they are welcome to buy more tickets and travel to and around India.
