sourab10forever Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) Half knowledge is dangerous. After what I heard from the players, it looked certain that WICB had done all the wrong. Here's the full picture : * Players received a pay cut of 20k but also were given an increase in pay for a regional competition run by the board. The increase was about 75k to 120k for various players. * The players want to play all the leagues around the world and then ask the board to back them as well. *The whole Jersey issue was mis-stated by Sammy. The participation of the players was uncertain. Hence the company did not print the numbers on the jerseys. Hence the manager had to run around in Kolkata in order to get those printed. According to the VP of the board, this was well co-ordinated and done much prior to the start of the tournament. *Never will a board stand with the players when they go around disgracing their own board. Nor should they. Edited April 7, 2016 by sourab10forever tweaker 1

Cameron sounds like a f'ing idiotidio I am not stating that the WICB is right in everything. I am stating that what Sammy told at the presentation was wrong. The Jersey issue was not needed when they new the reason for it. The players play all sorts of leagues throughout the year. Gayle , Bravo, Sammy, Russell don't miss a tournament. How can you expect the board to tolerate this? Even clive loyde said the same thing, they were not part of the test team because they wanted some order in the team. The problem with selection panel start from here. It's only got worst from there on. Nova 1
mishra Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 WICB is loosing a lot of young talent to Basketball and may be base ball. WICB can not pay players a paycehque which is comparable to t20 leagues Players abondeoned mid series aganst India over non payment of salaries WICB doesnt select most of t20 squad into odi squad. Players say that If it wasnt various t20 leagues WICB wouldnt have selected them for ICC T20 world Cup. All squad and non-squad players have spoken against the board. Players like Polllard are dropped for speaking against board .. ..
vijay50 Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 If Pollard doesnt play for WI will he be allowed to play for IPL. I thought you have to get clearance from WI board to play in IPL.If that is the case the WICB can always deny it. What happens then?
Texan Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) Its not one way traffic. Both parties are at fault to some degree. Gayle and Bravo haven't played a single List A game for more than a year. How can the board then be expected to pick them for ODIs? FC cricket - they haven't played for 2 years. Its obvious that the players want to maximize their monetary returns while their skills are at their prime. I don't really blame them though. The mushrooming of all these T20 leagues around the World are very luring for any cricketer to make some dough. Edited April 8, 2016 by Texan
