PBN Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 If I'm not mistaken the CPL (local t20 league like the IPL) is currently going on and is about to clash with the India WI Test Series. Players would be leaving their CPL teams while going for national duty. Could they not have moved either of the series a few weeks so that they don't clash? Can you imagine Indian players leving IPL teams while a team tours. IIRC, West Indies was in debt after their players left the tour in India recently and India planning to sue which they eventually waived off. Anyways, the timing is very off to say the least. tweaker 1
sourab10forever Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Most players in the test team don't have any huge impact in the T20 format. And the one month gap between Zim tour and WI was given only for this purpose. Can't do much about it. WICB have named only 12 members in the squad for the same reason. tweaker 1

West Indies just finished the tri series (WI , SA, Aus) prior to the CPL on June 26. So that's roughly 18 days and you usually need a week off before going to another series. Poor planning I must say and the series has been squeezed in haste. tweaker 1

Even though most players in the squad haven't played since IPL(almost 2 months). WICB requested the BCCI to start the series as late as possible so that the players can cover maximum number of CPL games.

Bigg Brother Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Why is this even a news..Every t20 league clash with the home team playing international series except IPL and PSL..And mostly they are test series. And if I am not forgetting,SA was playing odis against Australia in Australia when Ram Slam began in 2014.League cricket is for entertainment.IPL literally takes away 2 months from India's schedule and superstars take rest saying its very hactic schedule.

Don't compare both leagues for a start. We couldn't care less what League or tournament is being held while we tour that country.
