Austin 3:!6 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) Yes been done plenty of time in ODIs but is it possible in red ball cricket? Edited November 13, 2016 by Austin 3:!6
fineleg Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) This is not ODI. Test cricket Day 5 (even if Rajkot patta, still Day 5 pitch). England has disciplined attack and sharp at times. India would do well to grit out a draw. Just think if this was opponent team chasing 310 in 50 - there is no way you would give the opposition even small % chance to win on Day 5 Edited November 13, 2016 by fineleg tweaker 1
Cricketics Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 We can. Problem with chasing in test match is that there is no over limit for one bowler and that they can keep bowling a negative line without much field restrictions unlike a odi or twenty2o. Hence it becomes hard to chase 300 in a test match in 50 overs compare to ODI. Plus pitch gets worse on day 5. But that said, pitch is still good and we should bat sensibly, yet positively for next one and half hour until first hour post tea session. And if we are 150-1/2 before last hour of the day begins, we should have a crack at the target.
