The Supreme Court on Monday ordered auction of Sahara's Aamby Valley project after the group failed to make payment to market regulator Sebi. The 8,900-acre Aamby Valley project near Lonavla, Maharashtra is one of the flagship projects of the Sahara group. The Supreme Court had earlier this month said that if the Sahara group failed to deposit Rs 5,092 crore by April 17, it will be "compelled" to auction its Rs 34,000-crore Aamby Valley property, near Pune.

A Hindu son can divorce his wife for the cruelty of trying to pry him away from his “pious obligation” to live with his aged parents and provide shelter to them, the Supreme Court has held.

A woman becomes a part of the husband’s family and cannot seek to separate him from his parents for the sole reason that she wants to entirely enjoy his income, a Bench of Justices Anil R. Dave and L. Nageshwara Rao observed in a judgment.

The curious case of Justice CS Karnan has shocked the country and alarmed the judicial community. It has involved several firsts in the history of India’s powerful courts – including the SC issuing contempt charges against a sitting judge, a judge ordering a CBI investigation of the Chief Justice of India, and the SC sentencing a judge to prison.

Yes, very interesting case which for some reason is not being discussed much. Raises big questions about the collegium system, Karnan trying to run parallel courts. it might give Kejriwal some new ideas by running his own  "secular" elections and thus electing himself.
