It was under control of the 'moderates' whom the Americans used to earlier term as Al Qaeda and later ended up arming to topple the Syrian government. velu 1

Yes, but now the Syrian government has control of most(all?) of the major urban areas in the country. While ISIS did use the attack on Aleppo chance to take Palmyra, that town is much less significant compared to Aleppo. In my opinion, ISIS's days are much closer now to being numbered.
