Have said it earlier in the thread already that Kohli saw green on day 1 and thought of playing Bhuvi instead. Also, green was not much so many could have picked even 3 spinners here had the opposition been different like say Australia or England, but Kohli went with Bhuvi seeing bit of green and also that Bangladesh was the opponent and we did not need a third spinner for such a team who are naturally better against spin than pace bowling. So trying Bhuvi also works better.

Did I say the team selection was wrong? Jayant over Bhuvi would have been a little better in hindsight but at the beginning of the game yes it  did look like a right move.

 

Also a weaker opposition was the best time to try out a new bowler be it a spinner or a new 3rd seamer.

Exactly, our Bangladeshi citizens like @Malcolm Merlyn is offended that we did not treat their visiting team with respect I guess.
