In wake of controversy we forgot how bad indians batted on last day.

Indians should never have lost the test match in spite of all bad decisions , losing three wickets to clarke is unacceptable and their bowling has not shown any hope that they are capable of getting 20 wickets. How can they allow hogg and Brett lee to score so many runs,Yuvraj , Dhoni and Jaffar are big busts in the series.Yuvraj the man for whom the batting line had been reshuffled hasn't even shown that he can be a test match player, he can never say he didnt get enough chances to prove himself. Dhoni is the vice captain of the team and future captain can he at least show up and put up a fight , when kumble could last so long what is the excuse of Dhoni who looked at sea even against mediocre spin bowling, Why not give Dinesh Karthik a chance to be keeper and sit dhoni he cannot be any worse than Dhoni. Can Kumble show some faith in Viru and be more proactive. your views

The dust has just started settling in. As we took care of 'external factors' (i.e, umpiring, postponing the ban-on-bajji), its time for introspection. I would think there will be two changes. One batting/keeping change and one bowling change. The team may not want to shuffle too much. So...who are out? and who are in?

India has never been one team to bat out sessions to save a match. This was 2 sessions and still they fell. Umpiring or not, to lose 3 wickets to michael clarke when only a few overs remained has to be looked at. So does the concern that Aus scored 400+ runs in their 2nd innings on day 4/5

We've already found several positions for replacement: 1) Install a subcontinental ICC president 2) Get more subcontinental match referees 3) Get more subcontinental umpires into elite panel. We could spare a certain Arun Lal and/or Rameez who have been torturing us on the mike. Thats about the closest these two can get to something thats called "elite".

u cant blame the tail enders for gettin out like they did- the fact is the main batsmen were scandalously given out by ****nor which is y we lost, isnt that clear enough to any normal person :finger:

We were robbed of our batsman at two key junctures, first Dravid and then Ganguly. It was pity because both of them were looking so good till they got out.

If you really care for winning, you wouldn't want the same team go for Perth. Changes must happen in the wake of poor-form and ineffectiveness from 1st test. Infact this goes back to Pakistan's series. We could have won the one of the last two test matches in Pakistan series as well "but" for insipid bowling.

Look, the point here is simple- yes, Umpiring went against India but then, Jaffer, Tendulkar, Laxman, Yuvraj and Dhoni all facked up when it was time to stand up and be counted. You cannot have 5 of the top 7 bat like ninnies and still save a match against the best of the best. This point should NOT be ignored in the wake of umpiring fiasco either.

which ever team goes out to bat, there usually are a few players who bat really well and the rest do average when you have players who are doing the job of saving the game and then they are screwed over by the umpires, what do you expect to happen, especially on a 5th day pitch

You CANNOT save a test against the #1 team in the world with the umps screwing you around from all over.
havent seen you for a well. Visiting India ? Till that clarkes over aussies had only got 5 Indian wicket, had dravid ganguly not been victims of cric-crime match wouldnt have gone that far and both captains would have decided to call it off good 5-8 overs before actual close.

Yep, was in India from thanksgiving to New year - for a good 35 days.

We might have still choked (been there, done that), but the claim by some that our tailenders should have seen us through a draw after all the umpiring fackups doesn't make sense to me.

If they did actually managed to draw the match, most of us here would be sitting pretty happy for 'blocking' OZs march towards 16, moral-victory and 'tremendous fight back despite umpring flaws' etc etc., I still feel, loosing 3 wickets in the last over of a test cricket and manage to 'lose' is pretty shameful. And I can understand why we all are so pissed after all the 5 days of 'interesting' cricket.

I am really mad at the cheating Aussies but us losing 3 wkts in 1 over with just 5 minutes left is also inexcusable
I'm not surprised that we lost RP Singh and I.S. the way we did. I dont think they know too much abt basics of batting. The only person who may have been surprised to see the ducks of RPS and IS would have been SRT becos SRT values them as decent batsmen :D
