Yes. Plenty.

Ever heard of a concept called team balance ? The same player being 5th bowler AND 7th batter is good value, gives the team a balance. If you replace that player with a batsman/bowler, it will weaken bowling/batting.

This is another example of you going tangential. From Pandya can't bowl based on scorecard of one match to ... but does he really belong (when ipl 2018 season stats shows he bowled and batted well across 13 games) to ... oh he is the 'worst' because he is the 5th bowler and the 7th batter in the team.

How does someone who is the worst bowler and batsman provide balance? I have to grant he had a good IPL .

HE takes a wkt every game , which is pretty much bhuvneshwar kumar stats .

while the merits of hardik pandya are debate worthy, he is the best "all-rounder" option we have ( the others being jadeja, krunal pandya).. if the management goes in with the view that he will give away 60-70 runs per 10 overs, but, fetch you wickets in the middle overs, it would ease a lot of mental pressure of him as well. his fielding & big hitting is a plus...also, jaddu is not there now or prbly in the WC to run him out again when in the "zone":phehe:

It is skill set I am talking about. You cannot master two different crafts at that level.

ur calling someone worst n expecting someone to master a skill

Their is a huge diff between worst n master, ur calling him worst which is like a liability

So how on earth is he worst .

HE does enough for the team by doing two jobs even if he doesnt do it like a master . Its like having 2 players in one , they may not be master but offering 2 skills toghter infact incase of pandya ill say they offer more then many specialist

Thats is why in Sa test series his contribution was a lot and even to indian cricket he has given a gr8 balance in Last one year . Same is the case with MI as both pandya bros emerganance has made them a gr8 side

They have been pointed out plenty of times by many here.

About all-rounders, about test keepers (Saha/Parthiv), about test openers.

I was right about openers. I was right about wkt kprs. I am pretty much right about most of the things.

Cricket when it was an amature sport could affort all rounders. It is a specialist sport now and no one has the time to be good at both batting and bowling. anamolies may happen but you will not see a pattern.

look at football and the level of sophistication. Every player has a very specialised role and the strikers get most of the goals. There are specialist at evey positions. Dfeender may get a goal but he is never the striker.

ur specialist has even failed to play one fluke innings , means dhawan are rohit are worse that cnt even get a fluke 50 forget a 90

Please find me on google that pandya 90+ in Sa was a fluke

He is the best India has but that does not mean he merits a spot. I love his fioelding skills and his athleticism.

What did he do after that fluke/ Did he show any consistency. Only in this alternate universe you can compare Dhawan and Pandya in batting. Are you even serious?

i hold the same view.. but, every captain would like to have a genuine all-rounder in the team to open up various combo's..and knowing kohli, pandya is a permanent fixture

m not comparing both , but drilling ur stupid logic

coz u wanted a specialist dhawan in test team n not pandya

Dhawan didnt do jackshit n pandya made runs took wkts

So the question is what did ur specialist do ,

Are u serious calling someone runs fluke, if flukes are that easy tell why havent the specialist got the flukes

I am not a big fan of Pandya, saw him as a talented player for sure but he won me over with his 76 in CT final, the way he was hitting sixes indicated that he was going for the win even when we were some 6 batsmen down and if Jadeja had not run out himself the game could have been closer maybe.

TBH, Pandya reminds me of Ranveer Singh.
Wannabe but at the same time effervescent and energetic.
I guess regardless him being cringeworthy and wannabe , he is fun to be around.

One big plus of Pandya is he is very very confident.
So confident that sometimes it backfires on him.

But a huge problem he faces and that is , he is not much brainy.
Yes , he has the skills and is a decent enough player but often his cricketing brain misfunctions.
He goes by his intuitions and keeps faith in his instincts , which is a good thing but he is not a brainy dude for sure.
