The Indian team doesn't like me to be in the stadium :( My 100% record was predictably kept in tact today. Went through the whole ordeal of the day live. Somehow the day felt a lot faster paced than even the most 'exciting' T20s. Anyway, I was hoping that we could take it to the 5th day if nothing to validate my free ticket. If it was any consolation, I got the faint hope/expectation/buzz of having watched Sachin's 100th 100 until he got out. It was a fine knock nevertheless with some amazing drives. I was sat at the fox road stand fairly close to the banana costume people (not the place for peace and quiet or for that matter, sobriety). Most of the day consisted of randomly cheering the substitute fielder and Morgan for every bit of fielding that they did. Some good banter, sunshine, quite a polite crowd (adjusted for intoxication) and what a white man might refer to as a 'nice day out' but all said and done, I got the sinking feeling that we were being comprehensively outclassed by this team. The depressing bit is that the major contributions came from the British representatives in the team; can't nag them on that either. :/ /end jumbled up thoughts.

+1. Whatever happened to England cricket's (and most of their commentators') disdain for world rankings? :cantstop: All of a sudden being #1 in Tests seems to be the be all and end all of cricket for them. Hypocrites.
LOL! :hehe:

Just to make matters even more depressing...... it is tipping it down in Nottingham as I wake up. HEAVY rain. And it is predicted to last most of the day. Someone mentioned Barbados 2002- boy I hope not.

Mukund -- 2/10 -- Failed in both innings, possibly worse than M. Vijay Dravid -- 8/10 -- Brilliant Century in the 1st innings...he has done his job for the most part Lax -- 7/10 -- Good half century and partnership in the 1st inning...faltered in the 2nd Tendu -- 1/10 -- Horrible series for him so far..too much imp given to his 100, his 50 in the 2nd came too little too late...Came to England 1 month before...skipped WI series... Yuvi -- 7/10 --- Good Contribution in the 1st inning, helped us go past 200..did Bhajji's job and took a wicket as well Raina -- 3/10 -- hasn't improved technically...found out every time... M - 0/10 --- Failed w/ Leadership, Failed as a Captain, Failed as a batsman, Stubborn as a mofo and kept gifting runs to Eng on Day 3 in the third man region....can sell his team/country to preserve his personal image...spirit of the game award best candidate Bhajj - 1/10 --- Once again failed w/ the ball, didn't bowl much ....1 point for fight back given in the 2nd inning PK - 8/10 --- Great Effort, 7 wickets in this test match, handy w/ the bat....can't expect much else from him Ishu - 5/10 --- so Inconsistent....bowls good one day, horrible another day Sree - 5/10 ---- Great 1st inning contribution, expensive 2nd inning Duncan Flether the Coach --- -10/10 ---- Suppose to know in and out of the English team? Suppose to be an expert? Was hired specifically for Mission England? Obviously was shocked to see the way Team England performed. Not the same team he coached. He's got to go
Raina.......... 1/10, his wicket was the turning point in both tests first innings. Bhajji........... 3/10, because his performance is not too bad. Field placements of captain were made his bowling poor. Dhoni wasn't attacked the batsmen with his field placements in Bhajji's bowling. Mukund just disappointed with his batting. Sehwag will replace him. We must appreciate Rahul Dravid because he changed his batting position and made a great century. His mind set is too strong in this series. Laxman was not lucky in second innings. That ball from Anderson....superb Sachin's second innings lbw decision is doubtful.... umpire was interested to give him OUT. Yuvi........ good performance in first innings. needs improvement towards short pitch balls Dhoni........... 100% failed as a batsmen. 75% failed as captain. His performance behind the wickets is good. Bowling is good except some spells of each bowler. We can easily say, Luck is in favor of England in last two test

it the match would have been saved, it would have had done more harm to indian cricket. I'm very happy that India Lost. Atleast they would only improve from here, can't lose in a more humiliating manner. They should and will do the Soul Searching. Specially Dhoni, Harbhajan, Raina. They failed miserably. If we feel the pain, they would also. So lets accept the defeat as a enabler of change in indian cricket.

It looked an easy decision to me. Sachin made a poor decision to leave but he played very well for his half century and hopefully he can go on and make some runs from here.

Whatever excuses fans might give - Sehwag, Zaheer blah, blah. But the conditions were not difficult to even save the match in both tests. So, we apparently needed to bat only 2 sessions on flat track in this match and we couldn't do that also.

frankly speaking we didnt deserved to be saved by the rains. the final result is a true reflection of the way we played. hope the spanking knocks some sense into the players. they look like zombies on the field

Guys but a draw is a draw. Everyone knows that they needed soul searching. But being 1-0 down would have kept a lot of hopes but now being 2-0 down would actually demoralize them all the more!!

Not depressing. Good news. The medicine tastes bad, sure, but it'll be far better for the Indian team in the long run. We haven't received such a comprehensive kick up the backside in a LONG time.
